Knight Of Pensylon: Rise Of The Cavalier

Knight Of Pensylon: Rise Of The Cavalier
Chapter 20 - One Month

Victoria and I were still standing frozen after seeing the fate of our friend behind the door of this now-open room.

He looked pitiful, and I couldn't figure out what was really in his head.

Kristoff is not okay at the moment.

"Christopher.." said my father as he walked slowly toward him.

Kristoff doesn't care about it at all. Her gaze remained fixed out the window, her mouth remained tight, and her body pose was the same as her body pose a few seconds ago.

"Christopher, you heard me, right?" My dad's still trying to talk to him.

Just like before, Kristoff was completely indifferent to the people around him. At least until a few moments later...

"What do you want from me?"

He spoke, without changing his position or movement. Honestly, it was kind of horrible for me. Not to mention the sound of Kristoff who is now really weak like a person who does not eat three days (wait, it is true anyway).

"I just want to talk to you" replied my father.

Silent. I guess this is what it's like to talk to people who have just been through a very, very bad event in their lives? Does every sentence have its own mesh?

"Lied."

Kristoff spoke up. His tone of voice seemed to withstand a deep cry and pain. So, Dad tried again...

"I'm not bo-"

"YOU MUST BE LYING!!!" cut Kristoff tight.

This time his body really changed. His blank look turned into a cynical look at my father.

His whole body turned towards the three of us. Don't forget the pointer he pointed at us. His breathing was irregular, his teeth were visible, and his body was completely stiff.

"WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?! HUH UH?! I LOST EVERYTHING!!! FATHER, MOTHER, SISTER, FAMILY, TREASURE, HOUSE, DREAMS, EVERYTHING!!!" it screamed loudly.

Kristoff was a little bit grumpy when we played together first, but that's usually because of his childish nature.

Never once did I think that the rampage of that childish man would be this terrible.

"SO JUST TELL ME, WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?! JUST TAKE IT THERE, AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" said.

Tep. Tep. Tep.

Dad approached Kristoff who was still in his position. I could feel that Kristoff was beginning to flinch because Dad instead of staying away, he was approaching him.

"HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GO!!! I SAID PER-"

Greb.

Dad's got Kristoff in the back of his head. Before then bring the child closer to his body and approach him like a child himself.

"Hey!" Kristoff tried to fight back.

"I told you, Christopher. I just want to talk to you..." My father spoke again.

Kristoff calmed down, his gaze now on me and Victoria. The look of the worried man, I don't know why he glanced at us like that.

"That happened three days ago, no one wanted it to happen. I mean, there's no way we all want the destruction of our own village, is there?" My father persuaded him.

"So, Christopher. What happened that day was definitely not your fault. It's fate, so don't blame yourself. Okay, son?"

Kristoff's hand began to lift, slowly rising toward my father's waist. The child's breath began to whimper. Tears began to emerge from both eyes.

"Don't hesitate to cry, Christopher. Cry as you please, just get it all out. No one will blame your cry.

You've suffered so much, and we know that. So don't be ashamed, cry as you please. It's okay..."

Hug!

"YYYYYYYYYYY...."

Kristoff grabbed my father, before shouting out loud as he poured tears from the end of his eyes. So heartbreaking.

I looked around, and I could see Victoria shedding tears a little too. Then his own uncle pretended not to care, but I could see that sometimes he rubbed his eyes.

"MOTHERS... DADDYH... HUAYA..."

This scene was not at all foreign to me, not at all. Because in fact, Victoria used to be like this when both her parents were killed in battle.

The difference is that Victoria can at least go back to being half her old self, and that's because Kristoff and I racked their brains to comfort her.

"CHRIS... CHRISTINA... CHRISTA'S... Hix... HUAAA...."

As for Kristoff, I'm not at all sure he'll be the same as he was. Other than the loss I could say was "worse" than Victoria...

When she used to comfort me and Victoria when we were sad, now when she's sad who can comfort her?

...----------------...

Time goes by so fast. When Dad and I got here, the sun was right over our heads. Now then? Even the light was no longer visible.

Therefore, I think it would be better if me and Dad had dinner here before we decided to go home or stay here.

Victoria and her uncle were cooking back there, and the fragrance was really good. It's good that I can ignore the smell of the smoke from earlier piercing my nose.

But something magical happened tonight, and Kristoff finally wanted to have dinner with us. He was sitting right next to me. His gaze was blank towards the floor of this building.

Yep, I know it won't be that easy to return it to how it was. But at least now he's starting to open himself up, isn't he?

"Dining is ready." said Victoria while carrying a Chicken that has been cut several parts.

Chicken Burn is not an ordinary menu, especially for villagers like us. Usually, we can only eat Grilled Chicken at least once a year. It could have been faster if we were lucky.

His uncle followed behind him with a tray on which there were five glasses of clear water (i don't know why people call it plain water when it's clear).

Afterwards, Victoria kept the Rooster in the middle of the table. Meanwhile, his Uncle stored the five glasses to our respective section tables.

"Well, before we eat. We'd better close our eyes to thank Pensylon's soul for the meal tonight." said Uncle Victoria.

I guess everyone knows that I'm not the type to believe in such things, at least not before I see it for myself.

But when Victoria, her Uncle, Dad, even Kristoff close their eyes. I had absolutely no choice but to do it.

"All right, it's done. You can open your eyes."

I opened my eyes, and so did all of us. All but one, Kristoff. The boy closed both his eyes.

"Well, time to eat! Amm.." said Victoria before taking a piece of chicken and devouring it.

"Victoria, eat it slowly." Dad scolded.

"You eat chicken so greedy, you don't eat for three days." I said.

"Shut your mouth, Norman." He said.

More or less this is how the dinner went ahead. Victoria ate a lot of it, my father and Uncle who sometimes rebuked her, I insinuated...

Kristoff closed both eyes...

"Hey, Kristoff. Open your eyes, dinner has begun. Better eat soon, then run out." I said.

"Yes, Christopher. Moreover, Victoria ate it greedily."

"Uncle!"

Christopher opened his eyes, his eyes were no longer as open as they used to be. You could say, his eyes were only partially open.

He glanced at the four of us, one after another. His mouth did not change one bit, it was still as gloomy as it had been this afternoon. Anyway, his hands are clenched.

...----------------...

"Huh, full of it." said Victoria.

"Definitely, the one out of ten pieces of chicken you greedy three!" my reproach.

"Hehe, sorry.." she replied.

I'm in half two, Dad's got to settle for two, and Uncle Victoria's the same.

Kristoff only ate one piece, and after that he no longer showed the desire to eat. Though you could say he used to be as greedy as Victoria, even more greedy.

"Huh, it doesn't feel like our dinner is over" Dad said.

"You're right, Dad. Sometimes we have to do this again." I agree.

But in the depths of my heart, I knew it would be very difficult, because in one more month my training as a member of the Knights of Pensylon would begin.

In fact, the reason why Dad wasn't in the village at all that day was because he was busy helping me find a place to stay as long as I was a member of the Knights of Pensylon later.

I met him anyway, but it was my father who had to move into that house because our village was attacked at that time.

"Hey, Norman."

The call made my head spin very fast. Same with the people around me. Wh why?

Because Kristoff called me just now.

"Yes?" sahutku.

The boy looked at me for a moment before looking down.

"When did your training for the Knights of Pensylon begin?"

Huh huh? Why would he even think of a question like this?

"Umm, next month." I replied.

"Next month, yeah.." he said again.

Before he turned towards Mr. Hendrickson and asked

"About two weeks is enough for this wound on my shoulder to heal, Mr. Hendrickson?" tanyakanya.

Kristoff, what exactly are you thinking?

"It could, it should be." replied Mr. Hendrickson.

"Good."

It's not just me who seems to be surprised at Kristoff's sudden attitude, Victoria is the same. That's why he started talking...

"If I may know, what are you thinking about Christopher?" Victoria was curious, representing my curiosity as well.

Kristoff stood up and his hands clenched. His gaze led to the plate of the former Chicken Burn earlier. Face seriously.

"I realized one thing during the meal. I realized why Wheatville could be attacked and its citizens suffered like this. I realized the reason why I became like this" he said.

Kristoff then re-raised his gaze, glancing back at his room. No, to the window in her room.

"Because I'm too weak. Too weak to fight, too weak to fight, too weak to talk, too weak to live. Too weak to protect you all.

So, I realized that I had to follow in your footsteps, Norman." he said before glancing back at me.

Wait, don't bilan

"I'll join the Knights of Pensylon, just like you."
