Have you ever heard of the ghost story of Yotsuya Kaidan ? Yotsuya Kaidan is the name for Oiwa. Oiwa is one of the most famous ghost stories ever, the story tells of a woman who was betrayed by her husband.


In the beginning of his story Oiwa is a beautiful girl and lives in all small cities in Japan, his girlfriend named Iemon is a poor young man, but Oiwa loves him very much. then how the story of the excitement of Oiwa to become a scary ghost.


Oiwa's story begins when he dated a man who since childhood became his friend, Iemon. After dating for a long time, then Oiwa and Iemon married. Oiwa felt very happy when invited to marry by Iemon, after getting married these two couples live independently and look very happy, Oiwa is a sincere woman, he did not mind if the husband did not have much wealth. But even so the husband still does not want to try to be rich. Until after months of marriage, Oiwa began to get upset and angry with the lazy nature of her husband and only worked as an umbrella maker. This causes Iemon the husband to become resentful towards his wife and start thinking of looking for another woman.


Until one day he met a beautiful girl named Oume. From the meeting Iemon felt there was a sense of liking with Oume, because there was a sense of liking, not long ago the two were dating. Although Oume already knew that Iemon already had a wife and was a poor man, but he did not care about it and he felt that he loved Iemon very much.


One day, Grandpa Oume came to Iemon's house to get acquainted, the grandfather was embarrassed and disappointed because Iemon was a man who already had a wife. Because his grandson loved Iemon so much, he could not forbid his grandson to be in a relationship with Iemon. Instead of Oume's grandfather giving an evil solution to Iemon, the grandfather gave a solution to Iemon how to get rid of Oiwa. The grandfather tells Iemon to poison Oiwa. No need to think for long, Iemon finally planned his evil actions, he decided to kill Oiwa and also the baby in his birth.


Oiwa felt very angry and wanted to go to the Oume family, with a hasty attitude Oiwa stood up and left. Takuetsu tries to prevent Oiwa from leaving, but accidentally the sword he is holding injures Oiwa's neck. Oiwa is finally dead. He died with a curse and a desire for revenge on Iemon. Iemon then nailed his wife's body on a board along with the body of a servant accused of stealing named Kohei. Iemon then threw the bodies of the two into the abyss, as if Oiwa and Kohei had killed themselves together.


After successfully getting rid of his wife, Iemon finally plans to marry the woman he loves, Oume. It is said that one night before the wedding feast at the title, Iemon saw the lamp next to his bed dim and flickering. Suddenly Oiwa's figure appeared from the lamp and said “Traitorous” in an angry tone. Iemon picks up the stick and swings to Oiwa's face, but Oiwa disappears and the stick just hits the lamp and breaks down to fall to the floor. Then came the laughter of a woman from outside the room. Shaken, Iemon assures himself that it is only his hallucination because he drank too much sake that night, then he slept.


The next day, Iemon had forgotten what had happened the night before. Now he and Oume are married. When Iemon opens Oume's wedding veil, he is shocked. Not the pretty face of Oume he saw but the ugly face of Oiwa who shouted “Traitor”. Iemon once again took his sword and slashed at Oiwa. But what was toppled over was Oume's head that had been separated from his body. His new wife is dead.


Iemon also killed Oume's grandfather who looked like Kohei. Iemon was frightened and ran across the river, suddenly the board where Oiwa and Kohei were nailed together appeared to the surface. The two ghosts laughed mockingly at Iemon. Iemon runs away in fear and asks for refuge at Hebiyama temple, hoping that Oiwa's spirit can no longer chase after him. But the estimate is wrong. In his dream, Iemon is still haunted by the spirit of Oiwa. Iemon awakens, but everything in his presence has changed to resemble the face of Oiwa. Pumpkins and tendrils that grow around the temple look like the face of Oiwa with her thin hair draped. Iemon went crazy and ran away from the temple. In his escape, he accidentally met his old enemy and finally died at the hands of his enemy.
