Back To the Beginning
Accommodation in Breithorn

The inn we chose, has a building area that is not too broad and does not seem to have an upper floor. Even so, this inn has been arranged by brick and looks sturdy and ready to face everything that might happen.

I was with Noland together Noble approached the entrance made of wood that looked not too new.

This inn also does not have a name label in front of it which makes me somewhat doubtful about the place.

We wanted to knock the door first, but only when Noland's hand hit the door... The door was pushed.

"It seems unlocked, as if allowing anyone to enter it. Why don't we just go in?" my spoken.

"Can that be?"

"Isn't this an inn? But since the door's closed, we'd better knock."

Approving my suggestion, Noland started knocking on that door with a few taps.

Expecting a response, we waited for a while.

Finally came the sound of small footsteps from inside that seemed to be running towards the door.

"Wait a minute!" said the person who seemed to be heading towards us.

From her voice, she seemed to be a daughter.

The doorknob in front of us slowly moved and the door began to push back, giving rise to a girl who seemed to have some difficulty reaching for the doorknob.

"Good day gentlemen, is there any need that can be helped?" said the boy while bowing.

"Yes, is it true that this place is an inn?" noland said to the boy who was still bowing.

Hearing Noland's words, the boy's body was upright and showed a joyful face.

"Yes very right! This place. Please come in gentlemen!" the boy told us to come in.

Noland and I looked at each other, and after that we decided to go inside first.

A few steps past, the child in front of us ran inward and seemed to be talking to someone loudly and happily.

"Grandmother! I thought today was a lucky day. We have customers!" the boy pointed to the right of the room.

"REally...? Thank goodness," said someone with a low tone.

From the front of the room the little boy slowly saw an old grandmother who looked weak.

Speaking of this inn, rather than being called an inn, this is more suitable to be called a house. Around us there is a lot of furniture and house paintings usually. As far as the eye could see, I could only see a few doors that seemed like they would become one of our rooms later.

The grandmother stroked the head of the child nearby and started walking slowly towards us.

"Is it true that you want to stay here?" ask the grandmother.

Hearing that, Noland immediately responded.

"True Nek, we want to stay here. We are newcomers to this city and happen to be interested in this inn after looking at the list on the information board."

"So so... Thank you for choosing our inn," said the grandmother with a slight bow of her head.

"If you may know, why are you knocking on the door? Why not just go in?" ask the grandmother.

"That's because we didn't see the nameplate of the place in front, so you're a bit hesitant to enter."

"Ho! Really true?" said the grandmother as she turned her gaze towards the girl behind her.

Realizing that, the girl immediately put on an apologetic pose with her tongue stretched out.

"Not like that anymore. Because it almost made Grandma think a no-no."

"Yes sorry, Grandma."

Afterwards, my grandmother's gaze returned to us.

"Alright if so, please choose the room you want to occupy," said the grandmother while showing one by one the room with her finger.

"You can choose rooms that are here or that are underground, as you like" continued the grandmother.

Bー

"Underground?!" noland said it represents my heart.

"Yes, underground. Because the area of the city here is small, which results in high land prices, rather than expanding buildings, it is better to dig down or build up."

"May I look into the basement?!" noland said with passion.

"Hoho, you're so excited huh. Sure, please... Millin, please between them."

"Good, Grandma!" sahut the child next to him while forming a respectful pose.

"Come gentlemen," Milin's invitation to both of us.

Responding to him, we followed his steps to head to the basement he was referring to.

***

No need to linger, we arrived at the front of the stairs that led underground.

"Is it dark down there?" asked Noland a little scared. His burning spirit was slowly shrinking.

"Just relax, we have very reliable lighting!"

"really?"

With doubt still in his mind, Noland followed a little girl in front of him who looked extremely confident entering the dark room below.

One by one our feet began to enter the place referred to as Milin in front of the lead and I behind Noland who seemed to have started to analyze the surroundings.

Well, maybe I was expecting too much. Knowing that I wasn't in modern times, I imagined the basement was too high.

After familiarizing my eyes with the darkness and Milin who began to turn on the lanterns and candles, I saw a not-so-long hallway that beside the hallway there were doors that connected the hallway with the room in it.

Because the lighting is very very bad, making this room get a minus value that is so big! Hey Mr. Edison find the lights quickly!

"Have any customers ever stayed here?" Ask Noland.

"Many masters! They seem to choose to stay here because the cost is cheap, and most of them only stay one night," replied Milin while turning on some candles around us.

"Did many of them come in winter?" asked Noland again with a slight walk forward down the hallway.

"Really Master! Why would you know?" milin quickly approached Noland with great surprise and question mark.

"Just guess~ So can we see the rooms?" noland changed the topic.

"Sure, please Mr."

Milin approached the nearest door and opened it and went straight in to turn on the lighting. He looked like he had no fear.

Following from behind, Noland and I entered alternately.

Inside there are objects commonly found in the inn. I was surprised because the quality inside here, was not much different from the inn in general. Despite being underground, the area of this room exceeded my expectations, the floor and the walls were covered with wood, in the left corner of my front there were two beds prepared. On his right there is a table as well as chairs as an addition and other furniture.

At first I thought this basement was like a prison cell. Maybe I should apologize.

"How long will these candles and lanterns last?" murmured Noland who was near one of the candles and was observing it.

"If it is turned on from now on, it will approximately hold until midnight over Mister," replied Milin.

"Wow really? Ah yes! How about in the morning? Do we still need lighting equipment?" ask Noland.

"Just be calm, sir, when the sun rises you will not be enveloped by darkness anymore" Milin said, pointing towards a channel as smooth as air fentilation.

Noland did not ask any more, but now he turned his head towards me. His face was lit by the reddish glow from the lantern in the middle of the room, we made eye contact.

"What do you think, Arthur?" tanyakanya.

So in the end, I had to make the final decision huh...

Hey, Noland. You know I can't make a sudden decision.

While searching for answers, I observed again the entire room. Two people near me were waiting for my answer.

"Yeah, I think this room is very unique. This was the first time I had seen and came straight to the underground inn. It can be a great experience if we rest here, Noland."

"So it's decided yes..."

Instantly the look on the face of the little girl in front of us seemed happy, she couldn't seem to hold back that overflowing feeling.

"Miss Milin, we will choose this room" said Noland.
