Chapter XIV

"The number you're going to is busy."

"Come on, Will.."

"The number you're going to is busy."

Yesterday's conversation with Chester Blake got Maddie to William's mind. Last night, his phone was inactive. He just wanted to ask the news of the man considering Jim Adhicandra is now a suspect. And also the last time Maddie interacted with Will, their relationship wasn't good.

The girl walked out of the balcony of the room holding her smartphone. It's 10 in the morning and Will has no news.

"So stupid."

Maddie puts aside ego and shame. He has to meet Will. As soon as possible he changed clothes with a thin blue blouse, boyfriend model trousers, and white shoes. The girl let her hair unravel, not forgetting to take a black sling bag, a cell phone and a small run down the stairs.

The smell of vanilla began to meyeruak when Maddie out of the room and say goodbye to the mother.

"Ma I go first to Denada's house. I'm going with Mr. Yon."

With a slight shout the girl passed past Olivia who was reading the magazine in the living room and shouted calling out to Mr. Yon.

"Be careful." The voice of Olivia was heard.

During the trip Maddie kept calling Will but Will's number wasn't active. Maddie just wants to be by her side through all her hard times. For the first time Maddie felt like she had to be by someone's side and it was frustrating for Maddie.

Maddie immediately jumped out of the car that had not stopped, making the 50-year-old driver scream. The girl almost fell down but she kept running and knocked on the door of Denada's house with a fast tempo.

The door opened and the occupant gave a surprised look, "Lo?"

"Change. Come with me." Maddie turned to look at the driver who had stopped the car, "Pak Yon wait a moment."

"What do you mean?"

Maddie stared back at Denada sharply, "Take your clothes off and come with me to the police station."

"Police office?"

"Gue wants to check on Will."

Be honest. That's all Maddie can say for now. Obviously he didn't dare to see Will himself and wanted to be with him. And Denada is the target.

"Will?"

The owner of the long black mane that ruffled his hair frustratedly responded to Denada's many questions, "Udah deh. I'll tell you in the car, the point is you have to come with me."

"Why me?"

Netra hazel Maddie threw a stare as if saying 'oh come on' before she trespassed and threw her body on the leather sofa set in the middle of the room.

"Because you have Leon, and Leon can talk to Will and I want to make sure he's okay." Obviously, the one who pulled out the phone, tried to contact Will again.

"There's a need for Leon, isn't it me? Bring him in." Denada turned around, back in the kitchen. Maddie who saw that ran towards him, and stood in front of Denada.

"Gue needs a friend there."

Denada's mouth was tightly closed. The word friend Maddie used made her remember the past. Denada simply nodded and passed into the room immediately changing clothes, while the new Maddie realized what she said was patting the eel.

Denada informs Leon and asks his girlfriend to check if Will is at his house, or not. Maddie's main goal is to meet Will, not the police station. Denada wishes Will was home, still asleep, but he wasn't.

A silver car driven by Maddie and Denada drove into the police station at an average speed. Despite curiosity, Mr. Yon was asked not to say a word to Chester and Olivia. She denied it and wanted to report it but Maddie managed to persuade the man.

"Sir Yon can go home. I'll call again when I'm done." Maddie smiled, "Thank you for not talking to Mama and Papa."

Mr. Yon bowed slightly before running a little inside the car. Netra hazel Maddie was not separated from the 4-wheeled vehicle until Leon's motor matic entered the yard. The casually dressed man took off his black helmet before approaching Denada and Maddie.

Together they approached several officers who were standing guard in front of the one complete with weapons and vests.

"Good day." Sapa Denada friendly.

A policeman with Hendro's nameplate smiled as he took off his smartphone, "Good day. What's the need?"

"We're here to find our friend. William Adhicandra's. His parents, Jimmy Adhicandra, are being questioned."

The name Jimmy Adhicandra was able to make some cops around turn their heads. A pretty influential name. Maddie circulated a glance and saw some policemen starting to whisper. Of course because they mentioned the name of a criminal.

"Your friends are probably in the cafeteria. Because Jimmy Adhicandra's still in the interrogation room." The fat cop stood up, "You can go straight and turn left."

"Thank you sir."

These three students realized that the police station looked deserted from the outside but crowded inside. Many uniformed officers paced with the same hairstyle. Some officers with guns hanging from their waists were chatting near the corridor entering the canteen, and some others who were just wearing batik shirts were enjoying a meal in the canteen. The police station canteen was not crowded with the school cafeteria. Will was alone at the end of the cafeteria, sitting and resting his head on the table.

"Will."

William's head suddenly lifted to hear Maddie's voice greeting.

Maddie, Denada and Leon take places at the same table as Will.

"We heard about the bokap lo that the police brought and we're here to nemenin lo."

Will chuckled softly and managed to get his three friends to give a strange look, "Let's just say, but there's no need for me here. I'm going to school tomorrow."

"Lo ate? We order food and we eat together." Maddie tries to distract Will. And Will agrees with Maddie's idea. Meals.

"Gue and Leon are the message." Denada flanked while removing her sling bag and thrusting her hand at Maddie with her palm open, "Where's the money?"

"Lo think I'm your mom?" Reply Maddie origin.

"Lo take me, right? Where's the money."

Maddie screeches. He glanced at the triumphant smiling Denada as he knew Maddie would no longer fight him. One because their problem is over and two because of Will. Yes, William Adhicandra.

"More."

Denada received the red sheet proudly, "Fried banana 5 packs, drinks for 4 people, knows the contents of 2 packs, chicken rice for Will and boiled eggs for Maddie."

"I hate boiled egg." Maddie responded with a dislike tone.

Denada instead showed off her sly smile, "Oh I know."

Maddie can only glare but Denada doesn't care. He takes Leon by the hand and heads to the food order with Maddie's money. On the other hand Maddie takes advantage of this situation by apologizing to Will.

"Gue's sorry."

"For?" Will's forehead lifted.

"Zoe and Eyebrows."

"Groan." Will holds Maddie's hand, "I'm just happy you're here."

Exactly at 9 pm the silver car that was driven by Mr. Yon entered the yard of the house. Maddie came down with an unyielding smile. Will, who says Maddie is happy to be there, makes the girl happy.

He entered the house humming as Olivia immediately stormed in with a question.

"Where did Madelline come home at this hour?" Olivia's tone sounded angry, "You know the police have banned women from going out alone at night?"

"The cop's been eating with Denada and Leon, and then coming home."

"Police office?" Ask Gavin.

"Me, Denada and Leon Temenin Will. Kasian he himself waited for Om Jim who had to be interrogated for hours."

Chester opened his mouth, "Maddie, papa doesn't like you being friends with his son Jim."

"The problem is Om Jim, not Will. I've been with Will since 1st grade at High School." Maddie hit back as flat as possible. He even looked at Chester not like it.

"And you've been friends with Jim for 10 years." Reply Chester again.

"Will good pa."

"Jim was good at first." Chester won't lose. He kept fighting with the princess.

"Will is not Jim." Maddie pressed every word out of her mouth.

Olivia held onto Chester's arm and stroked him softly, "Ches, Maddie's right. Will's nice, polite again."

Chester's gaze turned to Olivia, "I don't want Devi to happen to Maddie."

"Devi who?" Maddie asked.

"Miss Leon."

Maddie's confused. He had forgotten about Leon's family when Will began to approach him. And now the name of Leon's late mother was carried away.

"Didn't he die of illness?"

That's what Maddie knows. Died of illness. What pain, he doesn't know. Denada only told her what Leon had told her.

"Who said?" Olivia asked in wonder.

"He doesn't need to know Liv." Chester stood up straight, staring at his daughter, "The point is Papa doesn't like you being close to Will. At least until Jim's proven innocent."

With a firm step Chester left them. Maddie's memories revolve again when Denada tells the story of Leon's family and the bad relationship of Om Beren and Om Richard. The question now is why did Leon tell Denada that his mother did not die of illness? He was killed by Jimmy Adhicandra.
