Chapter 9

Luke escorts the woman to a chicken noodle shop run by the woman's father. On the way to the chicken noodle shop, they introduced themselves to each other.

The woman was named Lucy, and her father's name was Jordan. Lucy turned out to be only 17 years old, and is currently sitting in the 3rd grade of High School.

As soon as they arrive at the chicken noodle shop, Jordan calls Lucy as soon as she sees her, "Lucy!"

"Dad!" Lucy also called her father and went straight to him.

"What are you doing here?" Ask Jordan.

"I want to help you with your work" he replied with a smile.

"Aren't you going to have a test soon? So you should be studying now, you shouldn't be here. I'm afraid your grades will be low if you don't study well." Jordan reminds her daughter to study because Lucy is about to face a test.

"It's okay dad, I've learned. I'm sure I'll get the best score on the exam, "Lily reassured her father and it's fine to help out at the chicken noodle shop for now.

"Haahhh, blame your incompetent father." Jordan sighed and blamed himself, feeling guilty for making his daughter have to help him.

"Don't blame yourself, dad. Besides, I'm glad I could help, too" Lucy reminded her father not to blame himself.

"But kids your age shouldn't work like this, kids your age should enjoy youth by playing games out there." Jordan says he doesn't want to rob Lucy of her youth by making her work at a chicken noodle shop.

"Dad, I'm only 17, my youth is long. So you don't have to worry about that." Lucy calms her father.

"Oh by the way dad, introduce, this is Brother Luke. Luke's brother was helping me when some bad guy tried to bother me." Lucy introduces Luke to her father.

"What?!" Jordan is shocked after hearing her daughter is being bullied by some criminals, she frantically asks about Lucy's condition, "Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

"Calm down, dad, I'm fine. It's all thanks to Luke's brother helping me in time." Lucy calms her panicked father.

Only then did Jordan realize Luke's presence, before he was too focused on Lucy to not pay too much attention that Luke was there too.

"Aren't you the young man who helped me back then? Thank you for helping me at that time. And thanks also for helping my daughter, if there wasn't you, maybe I wouldn't be able to see my daughter again."

Jordan sincerely thanks Luke, he is very grateful Luke helped his daughter. Otherwise, she wouldn't know what happened to her daughter, maybe even she wouldn't know anything if Lucy disappeared.

"It's not a big deal, uncle. Besides I also happen to pass by, I'm sure others will do the same if they're in that position." Luke did not boast and was humble.

"You're too humble, someone else might run away if you find something like that, unlike you who are brave. Not many brave young people like you." Jordan doesn't believe anyone else would do the same to Luke if he encountered a similar condition.

"Oh by the way, please sit down first, I will prepare a special chicken noodle for you. Think of it as a thank you to me for helping Lucy." Jordan invited Luke to sit down.

"No need..."

"Sit down brother, let us properly thank you. Even with just chicken noodles, but I'm really very grateful."

Luke initially wanted to refuse, but it didn't happen because he saw Lucy, "Alright, I'm a little hungry anyway."

"Then wait a minute," Lucy went to help her father prepare chicken noodles for Luke.

"Please enjoy it, hope you like it big brother, it's made special for you. With a lot of chicken, I'm sure it'll make you full." Lucy puts a bowl of chicken noodles in front of Luke.

"Thank you, then good-bye!" Lukas immediately ate his chicken noodles voraciously.

"It's so good" said Lukas, he felt the chicken noodles he ate this time were tastier than the last time. He returned to the end.

"Thank you" now Luke was full and intended to leave. She doesn't want to bother Lucy and Jordan by being there anyway.

"Lucy, uncle, thank you for the food!" Lukas waves at Jordan and Lucy who are serving other visitors.

"Yes, come again next time!" Lucy and Jordan answered.

Luke then heads to his rental house to pick up some clothes to take to his new villa. Upon arriving at his rental home, Luke was about to go straight inside, but he stopped after hearing the commotion from the neighbor who lived next door.

Luke recalled that there seemed to be a family of 3 people living next to him, with a husband and wife and a 5-year-old daughter. But Luke did not know their names because they were also rarely at home.

"I told you there's no money left, everything you've used to buy those drugs." The angry voice of a woman.

"Didn't I give you money a week ago? How did it end? Give me! I can't believe the money isn't there anymore." The man's voice was also heard.

"All the money has been used to buy daily necessities, even the money you give is also lacking. I have to work to cover our shortcomings, and you used all the money to buy drugs?!"

Bam!

Inside the house, the man who was the husband of the woman was angry and slapped his wife hard to make her fall down. But instead of apologizing for slapping his wife, the man scolded her:

"Stop saying that, quickly give me the money. Otherwise I'll hit you again."

The woman was crying, she was so sad and unexpected, the man who had been her husband for so many years would beat her like this.

"Hit me again if you dare!" Shouted the woman while crying.

"You don't think I dare hit you? Well, if that's what you want, then feel this!" The man threw a punch at his wife without the slightest hesitation.

The woman could only resign herself and close her eyes while waiting for a punch to hit her. But before that happened, suddenly the door opened with a kick of a man.

Pork!

"Stop! Would you beat your wife like that?"

The person who came was of course Luke, he could not help himself anymore when he heard the sound of a slap, he originally intended to let the husband and wife fight be settled by themselves.

But now it's too late in his opinion, because the husband is so cruel that without hesitation beat his wife just because of money problems.

"Who are you? Don't interfere in our household affairs!" The woman's husband was furious at Luke's sudden arrival. He did not want any outsiders to interfere with their household affairs.
