“If so..? Thank ye. Don't let the merchant fool you, okay?
Don't let your guard down.”
“Sure. I've got some connections, so I should be able to get some
detail.”
Glenda has a bad habit of making promises to Hinata without giving them
lots of real thinking. He didn't know his ready consent to let Hinata
read deep enough into his mind. Taking a moment to closely observe Glenda, Hinata sighed to herself.
He must really think I'm that stupid. Maybe he's under a false impression
that I'm gentle with my people?
If that's true, he thought, then it's very unfortunate.
Glenda has one thing wrong — Hinata is not a person who considers friends
his friend is important. He considers them pawns to play for the sake of Luminus,
and that's why he treated them so precious. They
all of them belonged to Luminus, and he was not allowed to waste them.
The Crusader he raised to serve because of his arms and legs
had absolute confidence in him; they were basically private militias
Hinata, and she believed in that belief. The Imperial Guards Knights, on the other hand, often engaged in unbearable selfish activities. He let her
glide only because they also believe in Luminous.
Saare is the epitome of it, commenting on Hinata and trying to
rebelling as much as possible. But neither he nor Saare knew this was just
a front. He whines, but he always follows —'s orders, in one
hal, make it easy to handle. Plus the fact that Saare doesn't know who
Luminal. Not just him either. No one but Hinata realized that
the god Luminus was a real person.
...I almost feel bad for them. They just have no ideas, same
like I didn't either...
Glenda has real ambitions. He has the looks, the talent and the confidence
which abounds. He must really believe he has what it takes
to bring me down, thought Hinata. He might even try licking Louis, though,
Holy Emperor, for that reason. He didn't know he was a vampire, so it was only natural that he tried buttering him to push Hinata away.
Well, he's free to do what he wants...
But if he intended to betray, it was another matter.
Hinata never voiced complaints about what the divisions were doing
which he did — as long as they never quarreled his way or
Luminal. But with the suspected traitor in their midst, behavior
Glenda is in trouble. Hinata has no intention of holding current cleaning —
because of what he knows, someone might take advantage of it — but
he must be vigilant.
......I started to see a breakdown in discipline. Maybe it's time to teach them a lesson and reorganize it.
The thought suppressed Hinata. But there is a more pressing issue. She as
mentally change gears and talk.
“Good. Everyone has given their report. I believe that all
people understand the current situation now.”
“Ya,” says his assistant, Renard. “The Resurrection Storm Dragon has had an impact
less than expected, the only casualty so far was the Farmus military
was deployed. However, because this is likely the cover story that was spread
by Rimuru, the actual number can be zero. ”
“If that is so,” added Saare, “I want to hear from the Archbishop
Reyhiem, the survivor. We know Veldora is back, and I'm very curious about what happened on the battlefield.”
“I think so too. I called him. He should be here soon.”.
Hinata had contacted Cardinal Nicolaus, directing him to bring
Reyhiem. He was there for the defeat and probably saw Rimuru
with his own eyes. Moreover, given the few days worth of clear time between the appearance of Veldora and the defeat of Farmus, rumors are circulating in the country
the neighboring country about Veldora destroying all that power is very not
in all probability. As a survivor, Reyhiem's testimony should have been very useful.
He was supposed to arrive this morning but it didn't seem to be on schedule.
“I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to hear what he said.”
“Maybe she knows something about Veldora too.”
“There were rumors about demon lord Rimuru negotiating with Veldora and
calming his anger,” Arnaud added, “But I'm also not sure what
what to do with it. He's revived, yes, and so far he's been
lying, yeah. With that in mind, it makes sense. ”
Everyone nodded at this. Secretly, they all concluded that
The Storm Dragon and the demon lord were involved with each other. Hinata is not
looking at the reason for hiding what Luminous had already said to her.
“...Yes. Thas right. I can tell you now that in between
the revelation I received from our master Luminous, there was one about how Rimuru controlled the Storm Dragon. As a result,” He said, “we can not put
hands on the current demon lord Rimuru. Please remember that. ”
“M-you mean..?”
Hinata stands. “I'll be frank,” he said with the most voice
commanding. “In this case, we have to stay undercover. None of the transactions
we with this demon lord should be revealed to the public.”
This, in essence, was an order for everyone to release their hands from
Rimuru's. It surprised them all.
“What?! You want us to just ignore the charade he finished in
Farmus?!”
“Demon lord can not be touched as a rule, yes, but only in the public eye, if
you recall. They were no match for the Ten Great Saints!”
Saare's right. Humanity is not entirely powerless against class-threats
S of the demon lords. They had built up enough strength to resist, if necessary, and that was for the Enlightened class, the Ten Great
Saints among them. Arnaud, Renard, and Grigori can respectively
defeating Special A-rank enemies, I think Hinata, and even in between
Ten Great Saints, Saare was only defeated by Hinata alone. Against the demon lord,
Saare won't be that big. You almost never see a storybook style duel
one-on-one in real life, but if it turned out like that, he thought it would be a close battle. If it was Clayman, the Western Nation
sneaking around, the possibility was even favorable to Saare.
However, it only applied to demon lord candidates, those who were strong enough to
role but not yet influential. Against a true demon king, none of the Ten Great Saints had a chance in the end. To Hinata, who
well acquainted with Luminus, that is obvious.
For Rimuru too...
The Farmus, and other countries of its size, is home to a vast system of
calling many people from another world and lifting them to be
combatant. Many have criticized it as a violation of human rights, but
when faced with the common threat of a destructive monster, the need
the truth tends to hinder noble intentions. Their numbers include Razen, the,
a royal magician who was reincarnated up to the status of magic-born, and the deceased
commander of the Royal Farmus Knight Corps, Folgen. A very high amount of power
the large was directed directly at demon lord Rimuru, and they lost. Between those
and Luminus told Hinata the story of how Rimuru killed
Clayman instantly, no one — Ten Great Saints or not —
who held a candle to him. Not unless they evolve further, within
the true meaning of the term, and become true Saints. Just like Hinata had.
Right now, if the tenth faced Rimuru at once, everyone except Hinata
will lose. He didn't want to see them waste their lives inside
endeavors.
Plus…
“You know, though... We have this demon lord and Storm Dragon to
overcome now. There is no doubt that a wrong move can lead to
further chaos.”
As Renard calmly pointed out, Veldora cooperated with
The tempest. Lubelius could have put all his troops into Tempest, and still
no one knows who will win.
“But we can't let the demon lord do whatever they are
want in human territory!”
Grigori's shout made the fierce debate back silent. That, in a way, is,
a summary of what each participant thinks for themselves. All
eyes were on Hinata. He remained calm, unfazed, as he looked
back to them.
“Official letter from Luminus is absolute. We are not allowed to oppose them.”
“Come! Did he tell us to let Farmus be smashed to the ground
with land? ”
“No, Litus. The main problem of the nation is the coming civil war.
His people, not his nobles, should be protected. You should pay attention to the area
this ensures that no sparks affect the people in the
Farmus or his neighbor. ”
“Means?”
“We may see some changes in the head of state, but disturb it
will interfere in domestic affairs. That's the reason they always use
every time we try to end the project of summoning someone from another world
they are, because I'm sure you remember. It worked before for them, and
they all assumed it would work again,” Hinata even smiled when
he coldly brought up the facts.
“Then,” asks Grigori, “should we sit here and tolerate anything
what did Rimuru do?”
“Iya. It's gotta. The Demon lord had expressed his disinterest in
enmity with humanity, and there is no more reason for us to behave
hostile in return. Archbishop Reyhiem of Farmus
from the invasion team, and I myself tried to defeat Rimuru. We both failed.
But now he seems to see the two of us as enemies, I'm not sure
there are other options for us besides staying silent.”
“But it is the fault of the Western Holy Church — and yourself! That wasn't
error Lubelius!” Grigori. Hinata stood strong, her smile turning cold. “Accurate once. So that's why you guys should keep hands off. If it were worse to be the worst, I would state that it was an arbitrary decision of the Western Holy Church to act against him... In other words, I.”
“What?!”
“Lady Hinata!!”
Paladins voiced their objections when Hinata spoke to Master Rooks.
Even Saare felt himself unable to answer.
“Quiet. I doubt he wants to go to war with us too.”
The statement does not provide comfort.
“Come, Hinata, do you really believe him?” Ask Saare.
“I know this sounds impossible from someone who tried
killed him early, but yeah, I think we can trust him. He said
to me, he was also from another world. I ignored him on
back then, but it seemed like he was trying to avoid conflict with me. ”
“Someone from Another World?! So she reincarnated as a magic-born, like
demon lord Leon?”
“No. According to what he said, he died on his home planet and was resurrected
as a Slime on the planet.”
“Are you kidding?”
“You should know I really don't like to joke, Saare.”
“Pfft. But I've never heard of that pattern before. There's a case of people
reborn, yes, but it's just a matter of keeping your memories from
previous life. But crossing the world while doing so...? That's Possible, That's,
but..”
“I've never heard of it,” said Renard, referring to his own memory.
“But, is there any possibility of reincarnation as Slime?” Ask Arnaud. “I mean,
what if it happens to you, Litus?”
Litus' clear face was grimacing.
“I don't want to imagine it. If I can't even speak the language, how can I explain to people what I'm thinking? Given the worldwide literacy rate, I'm not sure I can convince people that I'm not a dumb animal. Slime shouldn't talk.”
No talking, no arms or legs. Even if you share a language, you won't be able to use it. Thinking of that, Litus even began to feel a little pity
Rimuru's.
“Ya.”
“True..”
“I have rejected his remarks as monster scolding,” said Hinata, “but I think
he probably told the truth all that time. At this point, I
feeling a little rough on him. ”
If Rimuru doesn't lie — if she tries her hardest to be honest with him—Hinata realizes now that she might hate her guts it's because
not making any effort to communicate.
“Well, who can blame you?” Saare reasoned. “She monster.”
“Ya,” says Renard, “and our faith prohibits contact with them.”
Both of them would most likely do the same thing Hinata did in
that situation. Their faith does not deal with gray areas. Lend
the ears to the monster were unthinkable, and if Hinata did that, it would
raises serious questions.
“In addition, I was told that Rimuru was the one who killed
my master..”
“What do you mean?”
“I've talked about it before. The Eastern merchants
people to cut their way to another country - form their country
alone and deceive those around them. They also say Rimuru, the,
the named monster that led them, killed my master. I'm soon
decided to kill him.”
Saare sadly shook his head. “But you let it go.
Maybe it's not a bad thing now, huh.?”
He's correct. At this point, it was obvious the tips Hinata had taken from these traders
he gave her nothing but trouble. He knew that, and he also knew that no matter how his meeting with Rimuru ended, he would still deal
with many downfalls.
“But I said, he has a natural talent for escape. But now he
the demon lord. He must have evolved, so bringing him again is not a good idea.”
No one objected. The letter was given; there was no point in trying
argue this for religious reasons. They have to make an effort
reconciliations.
“So, what will you do?” Ask Renard.
“I can't do anything,” replied Hinata calmly.
If this was a human, he would be prepared to risk his life to fight it. But if demon lord Rimuru wants to establish relations with countries
else, Hinata was prepared to secretly accept it. He has no intention of
reversing his wish on Luminous. If Rimuru's actions begin to diverge
from his words, on the other hand, it was another matter.
“Then what if Rimuru sees you as his enemy?”
“Yes, you did try to kill him. Now he has a lot of power,
maybe he'll try to get back to fighting, huh? I wouldn't
blame the guy.”
Hinata dismissed those concerns. “I told you — I'll just say it
all of these are my own selfish decisions. But before we engage in any hostility, I want to try to go and talk to him. If
need, I'll give him an apology too.”
He made it sound mediocre, as he said, but nothing
the person at the joint meeting who could let this pass.
“It's crazy!”
“This is very dangerous!”
“Demon lord might set up a trap to kill you when he has
chance, Lady Hinata!”
“Iya! But even if he didn't do it, what if all the troops
the monster went down to surround you?”
“Quiet. I'm not saying I'll just waltz in there tomorrow. I
must make sure that I understand correctly Rimuru's mindset
formerly..”
But when he tried to ease things in the room, Hinata
personally don't expect much trouble. Reports all say Rimuru as
a very gentle person. In his brief experience with him, he did not
seeing anything that made him question this. If they both could
speak frankly to each other... It was a selfish hope, he knew, but it seemed worth pursuing. However, that hope will never be fulfilled. Among the tangled desires of so many players, all because of the compassion of their own motives, things are now moving in a worse direction than Hinata anticipated. There was a knock on the conference room door. “Case,” replied Hinata briefly, assuming finally Reyhiem. The guards on the other hand are obliged, opening heavy doors, and inside walking exactly the man he had expected — Cardinal Nicolaus, one of his most trusted friends, was, and the nervous looking Archbishop Reyhiem was behind him. It was all scheduled in advance. But it was the group behind them that made Hinata's eyebrows curve upward. Seven Days Clergy members are here.
(It's nice to see you again, Hinata.)
(Are you healthy?)
(What makes you so surprised?)
Hinata could not hide her astonishment. “Why are you all in
here..?” His whisper unconsciously. The normally calm cardinal looked nervous, and
Reyhiem is pale.
“Who are these people, Hinata?” Ask Saare.
“D-silence, Saare!” Nicolaus hurriedly replied.
“You are in front of Seven Days!”
Nicolaus sat up straight, shocked. “...The Seven Days? Which legend?”
“That's right,” Hinata admits — and when she does, everyone in
the room stood up and saluted.
Note: (Seven Days Clergy/Seven Days/Clergy here one meaning seven-day pastor) this
is the name of the group, the mention of its members is also the name of the anniversary remains ori yes ^_^
The members of the Seven Days Clergy were all wise and trained, transcending the realm
Enlightened and tasked with training the next generation of Heroes. Their existence
it's a thing of legend, shrouded in mystery, and they never come out in front
general, content with being discussed in the context of fairy tales. Even the paladins did not know
about them — are just a few that interact directly with them,
including Hinata and Nicolaus. One must be at the top of the Western Holy Church
to be introduced to them. This is the group that hosts the Seven Days of Trial conducted by Hinata, a test to help determine the next Hero and champion of humanity. This responsibility makes the priesthood an important part of the Church. But Hinata hates them. They were top-level advisers of the Church, ordered by Luminus to oversee the organization and educate its staff. However, before Hinata took his post, the Crusaders were an organization in name only. To him, it was sheer negligence.
Looking back, I must unleash their power when I have
hinata's unique Skill, Usurper, works in two ways. One, called Seize, takes on his target skill; the other, called Copy, let him learn it himself. During his Trial, he considered the Priesthood a legendary contributor to the Luminists, so he naturally used Copy to learn from their strengths and improve himself. People can call him
apprenticeship to the Priesthood along that line, but Seven Days has none.
They shunned Hinata for daring to rise above them, interrupting her with
this was a cunning group, which had lurked within the darkness of the Church and called out shots for countless times. But nothing productive in their actions. So once he took the Exam and realized that, Hinata immediately judged them as useless relics, took their skills, and left. Now he was using what he learned to train Arnaud and the other division commanders.I wonder if that is why Luminus had me take the Seven Days of Trial in the first place...
If he did, he would have to hand it over to Luminus. Discreetness
the incredible. To him, the Priestess had clearly abandoned their mission
to train the next generation, instead of focusing on covering the back
themselves. But if Luminus let them dodge, there must be
reason for that. That's why he never opposed them. Not in front
generical. After everyone sat down again, Hinata spoke to the group.
“So may I ask what brought you here today?”
(Hee-hee-hee! No need to worry.)
(No, no. Archbishop Reyhiem here has brought back some
information about demon lord Rimuru, isn't it?)
(We're just interested in hearing it ourselves.)
Those voices echoed in his mind. Seven Days Clergy members
Thought Communication to answer it. He measured it again.
There are three of them present — instead of the whole contingent of — and in
in his judgment, this was the most corrupt of the entire group.
Among them was Arze, the Tuesday Priest who ruled over fire. His power
like a disposable match compared to Shizue Izawa. He has nothing
what to teach, and Hinata doesn't even need Usurper to
completed his ordeal — but for some reason, he had to assume
that he was unable to seize his skills. It made him look at women
it was constantly, which irritated him.
The other two gifts, Dena, the Monday Priest, and Vena, the Friday Priest — Hinata did not
I can guess their motives. Help Arze, maybe.
A heavy duty. Luminous ordered me to make this as fast as possible and not
it might hurt, too...
Hinata became nervous. Rimuru already had a bad impression of him. If he
letting the Clergy get in his way here, he probably never will
make peace with him — but as long as he has no clue as to the destination
they, he should focus on Reyhiem. He turned his mind when he
lend ear.
“I'm stupid,” Reyhiem get started. “We challenge a fearsome enemy, too
scary for all of us. He was a demon lord, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Through our own stupidity, we have engineered the birth of a new demon lord!”
His memory of the event made him frenzied, his eyes red and
his voice was raised until he almost shouted. He continued, retelling
the events that led to this birth — his deeds were wrong
direction, everything is left without any omissions. It was not by someone's order; he was driven by coercion that he should do it. He needed forgiveness for his sins, if he wished to be free from his pain and forgiven by his god. When he told the story, the paladins began to mutter among themselves. The strength of this enemy, beyond all common sense, made it difficult for them to hold back. Either anti-magic barrier or remote-specific defense wall, enough to stop these monsters — even holy barriers
could not mount any defense against that flash of light.
But Hinata remained steadfast. Based on Reyhiem's testimony, he suspected it was
attacks involving concentrated sunlight. Then as if
in support of that theory, members of the Seven Days Clergy began commenting
themselves.
(Hm. Perhaps this is sunlight magic, the kind that Sir has always had
Gren's.)
(Light-bending magic? Didn't the anti-magic barrier affect him?)
(However Gren doesn't have much power for it.)
Gren, the Sunday Priest, is the head of the Clergy, his reigning light magic. One of his spells concentrates sunlight in a similar way, and while the Pastor is on the wrong track with their theory, if they and Hinata
having the same impression of this, Hinata thought he was right.
Idiots. It did not directly bend the sunlight with magic; it was
it reflects light from something else to focus it into light.
Otherwise, the barrier could easily block it. What is elemental water and
wind working with him? But it will require a lot of calculations
intricately... But he has nothing to fear. Once he knew the trick behind it, it was easy to retaliate. Simply install a protective film to relieve heat and spread dust in the air to refract light, and the threat is neutralized. If sunlight is the only one being harnessed, the attack is full of holes for
exploited. For Hinata, the attack was meaningless.
As far as I know, he used his scientific knowledge from another world for the attack. No wonder people here can't deal with it. They don't even
can understand. However, use it to hit magical defenses
they are very smart. No missed business need...
It took a lot of computing power to engineer the attack, as well as some
the spell is going on at once. It was a serious threat, but
now that Hinata knew what it really was, it didn't seem scary anymore.
But Hinata made her conclusion too quickly. Reyhiem has not finished speaking.
There's more... The main dish, actually.
“Shortly. That mysterious attack was a terrible thing. Sir Folgen was killed
powerless; sir Razen could do nothing against him. Nearly ten thousand
our best knight was overthrown by him, I guess. But..”
He stopped here, swallowing nervously, sweat running down his head, trying
the best to hold on to terror.
“...The real horror came after that. The next moment, the battlefield
become very quiet.
“Some were unconscious, severely injured; others were injured and clamoring in
land; More are healthy but wandering, afraid for their wits. Frenziedly
the frenzy they made together made the battlefield into a frenzy.
However... next moment,” Said Reyhiem, “all noise lost.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean what I said, Lady Hinata. At that time, the members were still
living off the power of twenty thousand strong men died. Only three are still
life: Sir Razen; Edmaris, king of Farmus; and I. Seeing it makes me
losing sanity. I was so overwhelmed with fear that I fainted.”
In the story of Reyhiem, the same silence pervades the sacred cathedral. A monster
single killed a force of twenty thousand in an instant. The truth about things
it's hard to comment with words. In the midst of intense tension, however,
everyone remembers the same legend in their minds — stories about one
the one who leveled the entire city and became a demon lord. Then Hinata recalled something that Luminus himself told her.
Predecessor of the Western Holy Church launched dozens of centuries ago — possibilities
longer, but that's as far as the record goes. But his people first
moved here two thousand years ago, expelled after Veldora destroyed
their kingdom. The power and immortality of dragons made them transcend
hope; trying to get involved will only add to the dead.
For the vampires who call this place home, Veldora prancing and
destroying humanity will lead to food shortages. Vitality
the purest high quality can only be obtained from humans, and
while Luminus and his family are safe, this is a matter of life or death for
low level vampires. Therefore, Luminus was forced to come up with an approach
their current co-operative to protect mankind. He saved
they, really, and now they worship him as a god.
So it was all Veldora's rampaging fault. He's worse than a disaster
any nature, impossible threats prepared for — Catastrophe. That
classify it as a Special S in scale, something it cannot
handled by humans, but he's not the only destroyer of a large-scale world. One-one
the only creatures in the special S rank were now the four known dragons
there are. But it's just a public story. Meanwhile, in mythology, there are two records
demon lord who demanded a similar campaign of death and madness. This is
Guy Crimson, Lord of Darkness, and Milim Nava, the Destroyer. Demon lord all
it gets an S rating, but there is a difference in this ranking. Some creature, some creature,
like these two, it can be rated Special S behind the scenes — and like the
luminous explained, it happened when a potential demon lord was awakened by
engineering massive destruction, which takes the souls of the dead who
generated. Evolution beyond imagination will be produced.
The term demon lord technically refers to true people who live
this evolution, and even then, it can happen on several levels. It makes
some demon lord is as strong as a dragon, and Luminus wonders if Guy and
Milim have evolved beyond that. Even Luminus, as a true demon lord, was not
have a chance against them. “If I fight Milim,” he said to Hinata,
“maybe I can beat him. Maybe it's a good fight, if it's
which happens. But in the end I will never win.” Then how
with Guy? “Ha! It irritates me a lot, but it'll be worth it. He was in
his own world.”
