Chapter 1 - Betrayal

"Finally, you've come to your senses, Arc!"

"W-What happened? What about war? Did we win?" Arc was shocked when he saw the woman who was in front of him.

Arc tried to stand up, but he realized that his legs and hands were tied on a wooden chair.

"Hahaha. Arc, you no longer need to think about war, all you need to think about is your life today!"

"Whatchu mean? Why am I tied up like this? Help untie this bond," Arc of astonishment, a gaze so cold, with a killing aura emanating from Amber.

When the war broke out, Arc was fighting some of his enemies. Suddenly he felt his body weaken, he fell to the ground and was unconscious on the battlefield.

When he woke up, he only saw the figure of a beautiful woman he was very familiar with, Amber. He had attacked Arc from behind him, thus rendering Arc unconscious.

"You don't have to ask too many questions! I'm sick of this matchmaking, I don't want to marry you!" Amber shouted, a killing aura emanating from her body.

Then, Amber walked towards Arc while taking the sword out of her shirt. He stared at Arc with a murderous look.

"Arc, I'm sorry, I can't continue with you!"

"A-Amber.. What happened? Weren't…"

Before Arc finished speaking, Amber immediately slashed Arc's head to pieces. Amber smiled sweetly, she left Arc's corpse just like that.

Lord Shinichi and Lord Mogi are best friends. They even arranged a wedding between Arc and Amber. They grew up and practiced Martial Arts together as children.

Arc is an interesting, talented young man. Amber is a beautiful and elegant woman.

They were touted as the perfect couple throughout the Staircase. In fact, their marriage would be the hottest subject in the entire Staircase.

Every era of the empire had its own way of leadership, and this era was no exception the only person who conquered the region and whose royal leader was Amber.

Suddenly, a light shot into a room. The light came into the body of a 17-year-old boy lying in bed, Leiva.

"Aarrgghhhh! My head hurts so much! I-It…"

"Amber, I love you with all my heart, but why did you kill me?” Arc wailed and went back to lying on the bed.

Arc is one of the children of Lord Shinichi, one of the seven great emperors in Staircase. Before his death, he was a talented, and great warrior. With physical qualities that were beyond reason and thus capable of reaching Heaven God Level, the highest level in Martial Arts at such a young age.

However, when she became the first person in the younger generation of Staircase, she died at the hands of her lover, Amber. Amber is the daughter of Lord Mogi, one of the seven emperors in Staircase.

“Why did he kill me? How could he be so cruel? Is it true that every woman in the world is cruel?" Arc was desperate and confused.

All suspicions revolved around the head of the Arc. His sharp eyes, his confused heart, and a dubious brain but nothing could help him.

A hundred years have passed. Everything changed except for Amber, who cultivated her amazing appearance and immortality. Even Arc's family and friends have died.

Not to mention, the prestigious and honorable Seven Kingdoms, which left only a few beautiful stories to read with admiration to their posterity.

"BRAK!" Suddenly the sound of the door rang out, a woman wearing an imperial uniform walked into the room.

Arc who was lying on the bed was shocked, she looked at him with concern and softly asked, "Leiva, are you having nightmares again?”

Empress Ruby, the beautiful woman standing in front of Leiva is her mother in this new life, as well as the wife of Prince Zayn.

Indeed, the owner of this body had died in bed three days ago from an illness. Arc rises from the dead and appears in this frail body after being killed by Amber. Without knowing how, he had come back to life in the dead young man's body.

When Arc first rose from the dead, she struggled to speak to Empress Ruby. Somehow, in his eyes, he was just a stranger. And again, after being near her for three days, Leiva gradually realized that Empress Ruby did indeed really care for her.

Furthermore, knowing that she woke up in the middle of the night, she was frightened by a nightmare, Empress Ruby rushed to Leiva's room no matter how bad the weather was.

In Leiva's last life, he had never seen his mother. It seems that her mother died after giving birth to her. He never imagined that after being put to death by someone he loved the most, he would be given another chance to live again in another body and have a mother who would take care of him, to let him feel a warmth he had never experienced.

Leiva thought, “Maybe he did not know that his own son had been dead for three days!”

If Leiva was telling the truth, he might not be able to handle the sad news. He would rather keep his mouth shut about it and pretend like nothing ever happened. For Leiva, it was a miracle that he could live again

Seeing the beautiful Empress Ruby, Leiva's eyes became soft. “Bu, don't worry about me. It was just a dream" he said with a smile to his mother.

The skinny Empress Ruby was sitting next to Leiva's bed, wearing a fur coat to keep her warm. He rubbed his forehead, looking worried, “This is the third night you woke up with a nightmare. You keep saying Amber's name all the time. Who exactly is he?" Empress Ruby whispered.

Empress Ruby couldn't relate Amber's name to anyone. In fact, Empress Amber named herself The Holy Great Queen's after uniting the Staircase and establishing the Altar of Terminators. From the past, no one dared to mention Amber.

“It's okay mom, you must have heard wrong!" Leiva comforts his mother.

Empress Ruby said with a sigh, “Never mention the word Amber again, even in your dreams. It was the name of Empress Amber, calling the Empress' name very disrespectful. If someone hears you say this, you might be able to die!”

Leiva nodded his head, clamped his finger, and said as an apology, "Not going anymore, my mother!”

Leiva felt angry knowing what Amber had done to him, and noticed the fear from his mother who spoke of Amber, he angrily made a resolution, “I will be a nightmare for him, forever!”
