The screams of Midnight

The screams of Midnight
Luna or Asih?

Luna and Ardi's car moved away from her boarding house, heading somewhere in the countryside. Luna occasionally looked towards the rearview mirror. He made sure no one followed him.

"Has everything been brought?" Ardi opened a conversation with Luna who had been silent earlier.

"Hhm," Luna reluctantly replied, her eyes circulating the gaze to the right and left side of the street, large shady trees began to dominate.

"They've been taken to our place?" Luna asked Ardi.

"As your orders!"

"Hhh, nice! I can't wait to see it!" A terrifying smile appeared on the face of ayu Luna. The look in his eyes changed, there was a clear hatred in there.

The car stops at the gas station to refuel because the journey is still long. Luna got out of the car and was about to go to the bathroom, she accidentally collided with a mother.

"Eeh, sorry mbak!" The mother immediately apologized to Luna but Luna only responded with a smile.

"Wait, you're Asih, right? Miss Aminah's son?" The old mother's question stopped Luna's steps. He turned towards the old mother who hit him earlier.

"I'm sorry?"

"You, you're Asih, right? I still know your face! I'm Bu Ani, remember me right?!" The old mother again asked as she approached Luna who was now looking at the mother with dislike.

"Ehm, sorry mom was wrong. My name is Luna, and I don't know my mother. Perhaps our faces were similar," Luna tried to answer politely, but the hands inside the clenched jacket held back her surprise.

The old mother looked at Luna's face carefully, a line of disappointed smiles appeared later.

"Oh, sorry maybe I was wrong. You look a lot like Asih."

Luna simply responded with a smile and immediately went away from the mother into the toilet. He stood in front of the big glass, his hands clasping tightly to the sink.

"Bu Ani, sorry .. but it's best that Ms. Ani doesn't know me!" Luna's voice trembled, the tear circles falling slowly along with the soft stuffing that resounded echoing in the toilet.

Well, Ms. Ani didn't misidentify herself. Asih what Bu Ani meant was her. Luna is Asih.

Bu Ani couldn't have mistaken her, since it was little Asih Bu Ani who secretly sent her food. Bu Ani is also the one who takes care of her sincerely even without her husband's knowledge. Asih who lives a kara stole the heart of Bu Ani who does not have a daughter.

They lost contact after Asih was taken by his uncle to come with him. Since then Asih missed Bu Ani so much, a motherly figure who sincerely took care of her.

"I am Luna!"

Luna stared intently at her reflection in the mirror. He straightened his head, brushed his hair back, and grinned.

"Correctly gone, he's dead!"

"You're right, Asih is dead! You're Luna, don't worry about your past! I will help you make your dreams come true and take your revenge on them!" A voice without form was heard whispering in Luna's ear.

Luna gave a small laugh, a pale hand with long black nails touching her shoulder. The figure of the woman with an ice-cold face appeared in the mirror. He stood behind Luna.

"Huh, you always come to collect promises! Help me finish them off and I'll give you another crash!" Luna looked at the figure fearlessly.

"Of course, but don't be late in giving it to me. Because if you're a little late …,"

The astral figure did not continue his words, he floated around Luna and stopped right in front of her.

"Your body will be his successor!"

The figure spoke right on Luna's face, her face turning ghastly with sharp teeth full of blood grinning. Luna just stared at the otherworldly creature flatly. There was no fear from his face. His heart had been frozen and dead since the covenant was made.

I will not let my body be a substitute for you ugly creatures!

The figure of the woman disappeared along with the entry of other women in the toilet. Luna washed her face with water and immediately went out to the car, Ardi restlessly waiting for her.

"Got long? Any issues?" ardi asked shortly after Luna got in the car and installed her seat belt.

"Hhm, a little bit but I can handle it! Let's walk!"

The car that Ardi was driving left the gas station, Luna did not notice Bu Ani who was watching him from a distance.

"I couldn't have misunderstood Asih,"

"Mom, shall we go?! Who will wait, the night gets darker and our journey is still long." A soft voice greeted Bu Ani spread her attention to Luna's car which had now disappeared from view.

"Le, do you remember Asih?" Bu Ani immediately looked at Aris's face, her son who was now holding Bu Ani's arm, leading her to the car.

"Current? Yeah, I remember a little. Why Ma?" Aris frowned because the name her mother asked, had long since disappeared from the village.

"Mother met him earlier, but ... there was something strange about the boy," Bu Ani recalled the meeting.

"Mother sure? Probably just like Bu, Asih has long since left the village. Said Asih's uncle ran away somewhere."

"That's it, I'm sure the girl was real. Mom understood his face, and mom .. misses him Le, love the kid." Bu Ani grimly, remembering the suffering of Asih at that time.

Asih who live alone sometimes go home in battered condition. His uniform is often dirty and dirty. Bu Ani was always there beside Asih, comforting her and treating her injuries. Every Bu Ani asked Asih just smiled and did not answer. He always gives up when he falls.

Bu Ani even had a chance to cry when one day saw Asih fall on the side of the village road. Her pretty face was full of wounds, her skirt was torn and her shirt was not careless. Bu Ani held her affectionately and let Asih cry as she could.

"I can't go wrong recognizing him. Every curve of his face and body I memorized. That boy is Asih."

Aris rubbed her mother's hand gently. She knew her mother missed Asih. The beautiful girl who used to fill his heart. Well, Aris actually fell in love with Asih but in the past he never dared to express his feelings. Attitude he has so far regretted.

If I had been brave, you might have been my wife!
