Doni is a poor country boy. Doni and her siblings live with her grandparents. Both of their parents died when they were children. Although born into a poor family, but their lives are always cheerful and always punctuated by laughter with family, neighbors around, and friends, and everyday friends to just let go of the burden and forget for a moment the suffering of their lives.
Grandpa and Grandma are traditional cake sellers. They made cakes from potluck ingredients that grandfather got from the forest, then processed by grandmother at home and sold together by going around the village. Despite the age of grandparents who are very old, they are still eager and trying to work hard despite the hot weather and heavy rain hitting the village. They still have to sell to be able to meet their life needs.
Their poor lives force them to eat only once a day, even if there is money to buy food or if there are still cakes left because they do not sell. One day the grandmother died because of old age, so the grandfather continued his business selling cakes assisted by Doni after returning home from school.
Doni was a proud student at school. Because of his intelligence in learning and achievements that are always achieved, not infrequently teachers and students at school praise Doni. One day Doni graduated from school and wanted to continue college, grandfather was very supportive. But because there was no campus near the village, grandfather decided they all to move from the village (village) in the remote interior to a big city in hopes of getting a job, to get a job, the place demands knowledge and a decent life for them.
Arriving in the enormous metropolis, they were very amazed to see the beauty of the buildings that were so high and luxury cars that filled the highway track. They are very captivated by the charm of the city, understand wong kok village, hehehe. In the big city, due to the cost of renting a very expensive urban house, they rented a small makeshift hut on the outskirts of the city to be used as a place to live. But when going to college, Doni was rejected by some campuses because he could not pay off the registration money for college. Not only that, the two brothers Doni was not able to go to school because of the cost. But grandfather did not despair, grandfather looking for a job in the big city to get money in order to educate and send his grandchildren.
Many times grandfathers looking for work, many times also rejected grandfather with various reasons such as not entering the clarification requirements sought, never finished school, did not have a diploma, did not have experience in the field/certain positions, do not have a SIM even the vehicle does not have, too old age, and others. They are often rejected for no reason.
Finally, the grandfather was successfully accepted at a bakery and cake factory because the labor recruiter at the factory was impressed and felt sorry for when he heard the story of the grandfather. Doni and his sisters were finally able to go to school and college with money from their savings since childhood plus the inheritance of a makeshift family and income from grandfather in the cake factory. Not only in school, when studying, Doni was a smart, smart and diligent child to achieve various achievements that boast of his campus. On the sidelines of his lecture Doni participated and took the initiative in contributing various ideas and energies to advance his campus by organizing various activities on his campus. Thanks to Doni, the good name of the campus was raised and managed to become a flagship campus that is quite popular in the city.
Due to the location of his residence with a campus that is so far away and also does not have a vehicle, making Doni have to walk for hours to study which makes Doni very tired. Seeing this, Grandpa became very sad and bought Doni a new bicycle for Doni to study. The bike was bought by Grandpa when he saw a butut bike that had been very dirty and never used again by one of his co-workers in an old warehouse factory where he worked. Previously the bike was used to sell a traveling cake, but because of the development of the era, the old bike was never used again. Although it is a used bicycle, Doni also looks very happy to receive his new bike.
Even so, Doni did not give up and still try to come to campus every day in hopes of being able to follow the lessons in the lecture even though he was always expelled lecturers, humiliated until always ridiculed by his friends. Not only that, some lecturers do not give value to Doni for his college eyes.Name Doni was threatened to be dropped from the course. Worse, the lecturers did not know the condition of Doni at that time never even asked Doni so that the decision of the lecturer weighed on Doni. Though actually Doni is a smart and smart child also achieves. But not so with another lecturer who knows the condition of Doni. Although late, but the lecturer still gave permission to Doni to follow his lecture lessons. The lecturer greatly appreciated Doni's every effort to study. Because attending lessons in lectures is the right of every student – including Doni. In the course, as usual, Doni again got a high score for his intelligence.
But because many other courses do not pass because of the delay to arrive at the campus until not allowed by the lecturer to enter the lesson, the name Doni was threatened to be crossed out. This also made Doni again threatened not to be able to go to college, until many times Doni got a warning letter (SP) which as well as a letter of reprimand from the lecturer which contained that Doni would be threatened not to be able to go to college. The letter was taken home and accidentally read by grandfather. Reading the letter, the grandfather was shocked and felt very sad until the heart disease suffered by grandfather relapse. This made my grandfather have to be taken to the hospital. But due to limited costs and do not want the money that has been collected for the cost of the hospital, grandfather asked to go home and be treated at home only. With a forced and sad heart, Doni and his sisters also drove grandfather home.
For days Doni and his younger siblings had to take care of his grandfather who was lying ill. But grandfather still asked them not to worry too much about him and had to stay in school and college. One day my grandfather died. Doni and his sisters cried in grief. The days passed by Doni without spirit, there is no more cheerfulness that usually always emanates in Doni's face. Doni had to work alone without his grandfather to support himself and his younger brother. It is also what makes Doni always has no appetite to eat so that makes his body thin.
Doni began to be lazy to go to college and had thought not to go to college anymore. One day Doni found a letter, the letter turned out to be a warning letter from the lecturer that grandfather had read. Under the letter contained the words of the grandfather “Do Not Give Up, Stay Spirit Try, Be Your Best, Achieve Your Dreams, Let Dharma The Buddha Always Join You”. The writing made Doni touched and then pondered, until Doni then intended to continue his studies.
One day the campus leader learned the story of Doni's life from one of the lecturers. The campus leader who knew it was excited and gave a scholarship to Doni for his services and achievements that succeeded in bringing the campus to be the favorite flagship university in the entire city which also recently received awards from goverment. In addition to being able to study for free on campus, Doni was accepted to work and given a place to sell cakes in the campus cafeteria. Doni and his sisters live in a newly established dormitory and are provided by the campus with ideas from Doni.
Finally, Doni graduated from the campus with the best grades and then managed to become a lecturer at the campus. In addition to being a lecturer on campus, Doni managed to establish his own cake factory. Doni was very happy for the good karma he planted with great difficulty and now has a very sweet fruit and can be enjoyed with the joy of Doni.
