On Saturday, at half 12 noon, I along with Intan, Raissa, and Aya had reached the front of the hospital area in the Central Jakarta area.
Since two days ago, we have made an appointment to go to visit Amel's father who is sick and hospitalized. In addition to the five of us, there is still Sari who will also come but can not go together because she still has business to be completed on campus.
Today's meeting also became a reunion event for us after one year of graduating from school, and did not have time to match the time to meet because it was busy with their respective activities, both in college or work.
We immediately entered the hospital area and several times entered the wrong part of the building because the absence of security officers who guard the front area made it difficult for us to find information about the place of care of Amel's father.
We were only able to find the right building after asking the nurses who happened to be passing in front of us. After a while of circling around, we finally reached the building where Amel's father was cared for.
I was stunned when I saw the inside of the building that was so dirty with dust and leaves and so quiet. There were no guards who usually guarded the terrace area, nor officers who guarded the information desk in the lobby room. Me and my three friends saw each other, just as astonished by the condition of the room that felt unnatural.
"It's a gini building, huh?" Ask Aya.
"We took the elevator once, yeah. Kan, it was Amel who said that the room was on the fourth floor." Intan took the initiative while pointing at the elevator that was behind us.
"Amel don't want to take us down? Afraid of the wrong room, Ntan. There's no one here to ask, either." Raissa's Proposal.
"He's not there yet, still OTW from college." Intan gave an explanation, '.already, we continue the way. At most on the fourth floor, there's an officer we can ask." He said he was trying to convince us.
Without rebutting, we followed his proposal and headed for the elevator. Before long, the elevator door opened and empty, we rushed in and then Intan pressed the number four on the available button.
We left the first floor, passed the second floor.three, and we arrived at the intended floor.
Ting!
The elevator door opened slowly. Showing floor conditions that remain unusual in the eyes of the four of us. We were stunned to find a room that was darker and quieter compared to the first floor.
With doubt, we stepped out of the elevator. I saw a row of tanned glass doors on the left side and became the boundary between the lobby room and the terrace outside. The incoming solar bias is the only illumination for the lobby.
"Kok the atmosphere is quiet and dark gini, huh?" I said the one who couldn't bear to ask.
We also agreed to split up through a room that is quite spacious in the hope of meeting someone. On the information desk, there were no officers waiting there, as well as the long hallway on the left and right sides.
Each of us also found doors that were closed, but the lights in the room were turned on so we thought maybe there was someone to be found inside.
Unfortunately, when we moved the doorknob, it turned out that the door did not want to open. We tried to push as hard as we could, but the door remained unmoved.
"I think the door's in the lock, huh." Bright Aya.
"Is it possible to be locked from the inside?" My toot.
Then Aya took the initiative to knock on the door in front of him. Long enough, but we did not get the expected response.
"No one's time, huh?" Ask Aya again.
"But the lamp inside the flame. Is it deliberately turned on even if there are no inhabitants?" I asked back.
"Try into another room, Ki." Take Aya to the other room on the side.
We did the same and got the same result. There was no door that could be opened and there was no response from within.
"It seems empty, Ki." Aya concluded.
"Yes, yeah.. Can't we have the wrong floor? If Amel's father was taken care of here, the room should not be as dark and lonely." I said Conjectured.
"Try samper Intan first, deh. You see, the room's info, he's the only one who knows." Aya's Proposal. We went to look for Intan and Raissa.
We saw Intan and Raissa were circling around the information table as well as the stairs that seemed to be heading for the next floor. Actually, to me it's quite strange, because the elevator button is only up to the 4th floor but on this floor it turns out there is still an additional floor.
Is that upstairs only reserved for officers? I don't know, I'm not interested in finding out. For me now the most important thing is to immediately meet Amel's father and mother.
"Ntan, try and call Amel or his mother again. Get one of them outside and pick us up. You see, there is no one here, I'm the same Miki sneak into the room even if all the doors are locked. Either from inside or outside. We're all over the room, there's no answer." Aya explained.
Intan replied with a nod and then pulled the phone out of his pocket. He walked closer to the lobby area so he could talk in a quieter condition.
"Lu didn't see anybody, Sa?" My toot.
"There's nobody, Mai. It's weird, no shit? Si Intan even wanted to go up to the top floor, but it was dark." Answer Raissa.
“Feeling I think we got the wrong floor." I said again.
Aya looks like she's trying to look up at the dark floor. Apparently, he was also curious about the floor.
"You going upstairs, Ay?" My toot.
"Not so." Answer Aya.
Soon Intan came back to us.
"Gue called Amel, and he said we were right when we got to the fourth floor. Then, soon Amel's mother will come out to pick us up. We'll just wait here." His word.
We also decided to occupy the available seating in the lobby room while looking at the surrounding area. Silent. The atmosphere is what we feel.
To reduce the sense of loneliness and anxiety, the four of us opened a lot of chatter.
5 mins...
10 mins...
15 Minutes passed...
Wonder re-established our hearts when not a single person came to us.
"No nyampe-nyampe, yeah. Who wants to nyamperin his mother, right Ntan?" Yanya Aya while standing up from her chair.
"Yes, Ay." Answer Intan in a lazy tone. He leaned his back against the body of the chair. "Try waiting a little while. If I don't come, I'll call you again."
I stood up and approached the glass door covered in gloomy brown plastic. Out there, emblazoned with another building, which seems to be one area with this hospital, seen from the many people who are relaxing on the terrace.
Finally Intan stood up. He walked closer to the stairs. From his eyes, he clearly looked curious.
"Guys, what if I go upstairs?"His words made me and my two friends look surprised.
"Well? You don't see, from the bottom it seems that the top floor has no lighting." Said Aya.
"Who knows, it turns out there are people we can meet." Answer Intan in a tone without fear.
"Gue did not hear any sounds or movement of activity there, Ntan. Mending do not need, rather than you why-why, even so bothered." I said nyeplos.
"Yes, Ntan, we'll wait a minute, if not come also Amel's mother.mending down to the first floor and find someone who can be asked." Raissa's Proposal.
Intan was still staring at the end of the stairs. His right hand held an iron pole made along the stairs as a handle.
"But I'm curious to look up. You guys just wait here, just a minute, really." He said with certainty.
Seriously, Ntan?! Crazy time you yes, there is no fear. Don't you have to." Aya responds.
"Yes, no need. If you why-why above, who can howl? I don't want to. Fear of going upstairs." I said.
"Here you go, guys.if until I don't come down after 10 minutes, let's go down to the first floor and bring someone else here. Yep. Ok?" Still stubborn, Intan actually gave us an order while tracking the first steps.
"Ih, you're not really that hard to say, Ntan! No, Ntan!" Raissa tried to persuade, hoping that her former colleague would want to undo her wishes.
"Yes, it doesn't work. I'm sure there's nothing there." My follower tried to help stop his unstoppable curiosity.
"Look at it not yet, guys have chimed in with nothing. Wis, I'm just for a second. Wait, yeah. I sent the message." Intan said that he did not care about the worries of his friends and confidently stepped towards the top of the stairs.
"Whatever, it's hard to say about children. Raissa said while grunting in annoyance.
We can only wait for him. I was worried to see my friend who was alone and afraid if something bad happened to him above.
5 Minutes passed...
I started to get nervous because I felt like I had waited for Intan's return from upstairs.
“Guys, what am I after, huh? I'm afraid Intan why-why. You guys wait here, yeah." I said.
"Yes already hunted, once met Intan immediately pull down aja." Said Aya who was clearly worried.
"okay!" Then I followed one by one the stairs. When there were only 5 steps left to reach the top, I suddenly heard footsteps coming towards me. I stared and waited for the presence of the owner of the step until I finally saw the face of Intan who had turned deathly pale. He ran past me.
"Down, Ki down!" The excitement now first reached the bottom floor.
"Newly want me samperin, Ntan." I said in a hurry to follow him down.
"Your face why is it whiter, then?" The question from me that feels like a compliment is of course a trick.
"Not to bother, Deh, Ki." He answered curtly while still adjusting his breath that was gasping for a little run earlier.
"Who did you finally meet, Ntan?" Aya asked sarcastically and folded her hands together on her chest.
"There's nothing above. Let's go back to the lobby. Afraid that Amel's mom's coming but we're not there." Answer the Intan who stepped before us.
Once we got to the lobby and sat down, we again urged Intan to tell us about the conditions upstairs.
"Is there really nothing, Ntan? There's not a single person, is there?" I asked who was curious.
"When it was, Miki wanted your nyamperin, you know. Afraid of you why-why, abis long really down." Susul Aya's.
"There's really nothing, guys. Dark doang." Before continuing the story, Intan looks tired swallow his saliva, ".but I could hear the voices like people talking, so. Out of curiosity I finally tried to deketin uh his voice was lost. As soon as I walked away, the sound of the chatter was again from the same direction. His voice is gone every time I want to get it. I look right left, no one and I suddenly goosebumps, dong. That's why it went down." Evidently.
"Thankuratin, it's because we don't want to hear the word we-we earlier." Ledek.
"Know, so people don't ngeyel." Susul Aya is just as upset as me and so is Raissa.
"Yes the name too, it's a business guys. I'm thinking positive, who knows if someone's upstairs." Intan is still defending himself.
"Usaha anyway, may be Ntan but next time the consideration is also the opinion of your friends. We're worried if anything happens to you at the top." Raissa finally opened her voice.
"Yes yes. I was wrong. Sorry." which." Finally Intan gave up and his body suddenly lethargic.
"Eh, that glass door can be opened, no?" Aya asked as she stood near the door.
His hand shook the glass doorknob, and it was successfully opened by being pushed.
"Eh, it can be opened, guys!"
We were impressed when we saw the door open.
"That's the door you can open or force, Ay?" Tanya Intan was joking.
"Emang is not locked, really." Aya replied while out setting foot on the terrace that felt like the balcony. We followed his steps and felt the hot air outside as it came into direct contact with the sunlight.
"Look, there are still many other glass doors and there are maintenance rooms as well." Show Aya.
"Yes, yeah. I'm just a regular balcony." Intan replied, then glanced at me and the other two friends, ".would you try to find, would you?"
"Well?" I asked while leaning my back on the edge of the barrier wall.
"Yes, there are still patients in there, and we can ask." The answer.
I smiled cynically, "If there was, Ntan.in there was a lonely hopping so, would it not be the same."
"Try it first. While finding out, I text Amel again for his whereabouts." Intan.
"Whatever, please." My reply, don't want to argue.
Again, we were split into two teams. The first team was filled by Intan and Raissa who walked to the left side. The second team is of course me and Aya who take the road on the right side.
The first steps lead me and Aya to a narrow room containing a toilet and a refrigerator that has been damaged. The room is quite dirty and looks like water seepage so the walls are a bit brown.
We moved to another room with doors. One by one we touched the handle, hoping to open it. Unfortunately, our expectations remain unfulfilled. The condition of the doors with the doors inside are equally locked and inaudible to human activity.
"The situation is the same, Ay. There's nothing here." I said. "Gue was sure that we had the wrong floor. The proof of this floor is empty, and neither Amel nor Amel's mother appears."
"Yes, just this time also see the condition of the hospital is quiet like this. Although the weekend, it's not going to reach this empty, anyway. But, if you follow Amel's direction, it should be true, right? Fourth floor in the jasmine corridor."
"The fourth floor may be right, but what's still unclear is that we're actually in the jasmine or nonchalant corridor." Reply then. "My advice, the hell mending us down first to the ground floor. Nyari nunter or officer make room, rather than we wait and the muters are not clear, gini."
"Yes, let's say that to Intan with Raissa. For a long time horror also around on the floor that is not inhabited like this." Said Aya.
Finally Aya and I turned down the path taken by Intan and Raissa. Passing through the glass doors and arriving in front of the road in the form of a long and dark passage. There was a feeling of doubt in my heart when I wanted to move in.
"Sure, you want to go in there, right?" My toot.
"Dark, yeah. Are we waiting for them here?" Aya advised.
"We wait here and call them, who knows the horror." My proposal. Aya also gave a nod of agreement.
"Washer! Raisa's! Oi, oi out!" In turn, we call out their names.
"Intan ! Raissa ! We're going down, right." I'm proceeding.
We waited for Intan and Raissa's response, until a noise emerged from the direction of the hallway. The sounds of footsteps running towards where we were standing.
"Surely the Diamond is with Raissa, no." I guessed with certainty.
"If it's not, how's Ki?" Unexpectedly Aya actually threw a question that managed to make my hair stand up. The question does not really fit into our current situation and place.
I stared at the question and demanded an answer to Aya's reason for making a statement just now. But the one who was stared at kept silent and started to come in fear. Either due to fear of the sounds of the approaching steps, or fear of being stared at for a long time by me.
We looked simultaneously into the darkness of the passageway. Holding hands awaits the appearance of the owner of the rowdy step. At first it was only vague until we could clearly see the appearance of Intan and Raissa. When they reached our position, they grabbed my arm and Aya, forcing us away from the hall as if something was chasing them from behind.
