Dear Mr Dev's Wife

Dear Mr Dev's Wife
Meetings With Fandy Handoko

"Dev, when are you going home? Your mom always asks Papa when you'll be back. You've been in this country for a few days but still haven't come home".

Dev was at a restaurant enjoying a quiet dinner when his father contacted him.

"Well, I'll be back after mama stops matching me with girls whose origins aren't clear".

Dev responded to the father's words with a calm demeanor.

"If you want mama to stop matching you, then you must immediately find your own soul mate. So far Papa has always helped you with business reasons, now your business has grown so you can not make business as your reason anymore. After all, your age is mature enough to have a family, so let us immediately fondle grandchildren like our other friends".

Dev just silently nonchalantly listened to the father's words from the other end of the phone. His gaze swept over every corner of the restaurant and locked onto one of the girls sitting alone not far from him.

"Well, yes, yes. I'll call you back later".

"Why? You deliberately want to avoid this discussion?"

Dev was about to hang up the phone to get to the girl but the father could not compromise and just kept talking.

"I found my bride"

"What?!"

"Bye".

Dev hangs up his phone call without waiting for his father to respond. He was intending to approach Aleen who was sitting alone. Dev had not yet gotten out of his seat a young man suddenly sat before Aleen. Dev undoes his intentions and only notices them.

...****************...

From another angle.

Aleen was sitting alone in a restaurant waiting for the arrival of the son of the Handoko family as the father had said.

"Where is that guy? Why so long?", muttered Aleen who kept staring out the window.

Not long after a young man approached her.

"Are you Aleen?".

Aleen looked up at the face of the man standing before him.

"Ah, yes. I'm Aleen".

Aleen immediately stood up while extending out his hand and made the wound on his leg feel a little painful. She grimaced a little.

"Fandy"

The young man welcomed Aleen's helping hand as he mentioned his name

"I'm sorry I'm a little late. There was something in the office that I had to take care of first. Since I'm the leader inevitably I have to finish first, I can't just leave him alone".

"Ah, yes".

The young man continued to speak with pride himself. And made Aleen just show a smile forced to respond to every word that came out of Fandy's mouth.

"Dull. Do I have to spend the rest of my life with someone like this? He just wanted to dominate by boasting himself".

Aleen's mind grumbled in annoyance from getting tired of listening to Fandy's story. But he also could not leave the man alone for no apparent reason because Mr. Bastian would definitely scold him all out.

From a distance, Dev continued to watch indifferently the interaction between Aleen and Fandy. He frowned in surprise when he saw Aleen grimacing slightly and smiled faintly when he saw Aleen who seemed to feel bored while talking to Fandy.

"Does you still have time after this? It's late afternoon, how about we take a walk?".

Fandy asked Aleen after they finished their dinner.

"I'm sorry, but I can't. There's some work to be done tonight, too. So I have to get back".

Aleen spoke regretfully and hoped that Fandy would leave immediately and leave him alone.

"Hmrs... Then let me take you home"

"No need to bother. I can go home by myself. Anyway, I still want to be here any minute. So you go home first".

Aleen again rejected Fandy's offer for him to actually leave.

For a moment Fandy fell silent considering Aleen's wishes.

"alright. Next time we set a time to meet again".

"Eum, okay".

Aleen simply smiled as he nodded his head slowly.

"Then I'll see you again".

"Yes, see you", Aleen replied as he waved

Aleen continued to stare out the window thinking about what would happen to him in the future.

"Do I have to marry a man like that? I don't want to marry her at all".

Aleen spoke to himself as he stared out the window and one hand propped up his chin.

"Then you should marry me"

Aleen turned his head after hearing a familiar voice for him. He looked at her with a confused look.

"Why are you here?", asked Aleena with a surprised look.

"Because you're here".

Dev responded with a faint smile.

"What does that mean? So you followed me?".

Aleen smiled faintly at the answer Dev gave.

"Kenapa kamu masih duduk disini? Kamu ditinggalkan pasangan kencanmu?".

Tuut... tuut... tuut...

Tak berselang lama terdengar suara pak Bastian dari ujung telepon.

"Halo, Fandy".

Suara pak Bastian terdengar tenang dan berwibawa.

"Halo, Om Bastian. Apa aku mengganggu?".

Fandy bertanya dengan sopan dan ramah.

"Tentu saja tidak. Bukannya kamu sedang makan malam dengan Aleen? Apa dia tidak datang ke pertemuan kalian?".

Pak Bastian bertanya dengan heran.

"No, he's coming. I just finished dinner with him. Sorry Om Bastian. I have something to ask Om".

Fandy sounded hesitant before he asked.

Mr. Bastian looks increasingly curious with a frown.

"What's wrong? Just ask"

"Is it true Aleen doesn't have a girlfriend? After dinner with me, he was seen talking to a man".

Fandy immediately asked Bastian without further ado.

"Speaking with a man? Wh who? There was no way Angga, because he was with Diana. Fandy, can you take a picture of them and send it to Om? Om will ask Aleena later after she returns", Aleen's father said in a still calm manner.

"Good, Om. I'll send it right now".

Fandy hangs up his phone call and takes a picture of Aleena and Dev. After that he immediately sent it to Mr. Bastian without thinking about anything else.

"I hope that man isn't who you are" Fandy murmured after sending photos of Aleena and Dev to Bastian
