Asshalaatu khairum minan

Hearing the dawn's azan, Alma awoke from sleep. When his net opened, as usual he did not find Jafar beside him. He took a sideways sitting position, picked up the blanket and got off the bed-to-bathroom.

Three minutes passed he came out of the bathroom, and walked up to the dresser, when from a distance he only realized that there was a piece of paper located there.

"I have a job this early morning. After I go home I will take you to the hospital. On the dining table, I have prepared breakfast for you and Ummi.

- Jafar," wrote Jafar.

After reading it, Alma folded the paper back. As if he could keep it with the other papers. Whether the night could be said to be quarrelsome or not, he still felt that his heart was so sick - to be first or second would be meaningless. Because for him the marriage that he had understood so far was the two people who lived together until one of the lives was taken.

"Mrs ..."

The sound of the call was matched with the knock of the door. The father-in-law opened the door and entered.

"Son, have you prayed?"

Alma smiling. "It's Ummi. Alma to pray. Ummi already?"

"Ummi's having a period, son. That's why Ummi's waiting at the dinner table, huh?"

Ummi Salamah. And Alma had taken wudu to perform the prayers of two rakaats. After that he quickly changed clothes with black robe and navy veil, then headed to the dining table.

"It must be your cooking, son."

Alma nodded. "Yes, Ummi. He left a message for Alma."

In silence they devoured breakfast. Alma had finished cleaning the dining table, then he washed the dishes and dirty glasses earlier. After that, he again sat-Ummi Salamah asking for time to talk for a moment.

"You got into a fight with Jafar, son?"

Alma. "No, Ummi."

Ummi Salamah had noticed her daughter-in-law's swollen eyes from crying for too long. "You cried all night?"

"Alma only spoke briefly with Mas Jafar, Ummi. Alma just asked, did he know about the trust Abi asked for? Alma just did not want Mas Jafar .. disappointed," replied Alma without heeding the question about his eyes.

"Loved?" From the seat opposite Umm Salamah shook his head, his hand touched Alma's left hand and again said, "What son of Ummi, will be disappointed after having a wife like this son-in-law of Ummi?"

"No, Son. Even Ummi was sure. Abi. Your father-in-law will be happy to see his son marry a woman like you" said Umm Salamah.

Alma slightly lowered her head, looking at her hand that was touched. "Don't praise Alma too much, Ummi. Alma had only been Mas Jafar's wife for a few days. Alma is afraid ... going forward will disappoint Ummi and Mas Jafar."

Umm Salamah sighed. "You know, son. Every human being will never escape disappointment. Ummi said it was natural, if one day you do things that might make Ummi and Jafar disappointed. Ummi will try to understand you, if the reason you give is right, son. Even Jafar will understand you."

Alma just nodded.

"Ummi .. trust is from husband--"

Ummi Salamah refuted, "Ummi knows, Alma. The trust was indeed from Ummi's husband, but as a mother, Ummi never wanted to see the child Ummi loved had to undergo marriage with such a woman."

"Ummi spoke as if Azizah was a bad woman. Though as far as Alma knows she is a woman who is very coveted by anyone, because of the good--"

Again Ummi Salamah refuted, "Ummi never said Azizah was a bad woman. Azizah is good, she is perfect, she deserves to be coveted by anyone. But ... he is not at all willing to live with Ummi's son, son."

"What is the reason, Ummi? Wasn't the matchmaking set before .. there was an accident?" said Alma.

Ummi Salamah's grip on Alma's hand came off. He stared straight ahead where the kitchen furniture was stacked. "Indeed. And you ... are still asking about the reason, son?"

"Isn't it clear? Which woman would marry a mute man like Ummi's son?" ummi Salamah.

Three seconds later, Alma said, "Then why would Ummi want to marry Ummi's son to a woman like Alma? Alma has flaws too. Even Alma had once insulted Mas Jafar in front of Ummi. What according to Ummi ... Alma really is the woman who deserves to accompany Mas Jafar?"

"Ummi knows you once insulted Jafar. But ... have you ever hung on to a relationship that should be obvious? One time Ummi persuaded you, failed. Ummi understand. Twice, you've already started to melt. Moreover, you regret your bad deeds, even willing to marry Jafar, even if you ask for seven months. Then you still ask like that? ... " Ummi Salamah looked at Alma who was looking down deeply and said, "Want. You deserve Jafar."

"A-alma excuse me to go to the room, Ummi."

...🌺...

Eight o'clock in the morning. Jafar was finished with his affairs, from inside Alma's room could hear Lutfan's voice saying goodbye to Umm Salamah. And about a minute the door of the room was open-Jafar came in with his tired face.

"You haven't changed your clothes? Why?"

The notebook Alma gave back to her husband's lap. Then he said, "Don't today. No pa-pa, right? S-I suddenly feel not well."

Jafar approached touching Alma's forehead, which spontaneously made him retreat. "Why do you want to do something? My body temperature didn't go up, huh."

"Even if I ask you not to think about last night, you definitely won't be able to. But please, you trust me, Alma. You have to believe in this husband" Jafar wrote.

"I know. You are not that easy to marry a woman without thinking, especially without Ummi's blessing." Again his chest hurt, it was so tight. Some Alma took a breath and threw it away and said, "But aren't you disappointed? Should you marry a woman who wasn't your brother's choice?"

Jafar.

"You're not Abi's choice. But you're Ummi's choice. Didn't I say that the woman of Ummi's choice is the best" Jafar wrote.

Alma avoided Jafar's gaze by looking down.

"Why are you so sure?" ask Alma.

The reflection of the mirror revealed the face of Jafar who was smiling knot. Then he went down and wrote an answer to Alma. "You can accept me. You can understand me without me speaking. So what kind of doubts should I explain to you, Alma?"

"none. Absolutely nothing" Jafar continued in the writing.

"Don't trust me too much Jafar. What if I disappoint you? And make you feel bad for having a wife like me?" said Alma.

Jafar. And write down the answer to Alma. "Humans are used to disappointing other humans. I understand that life cannot be arranged so beautifully and neatly."

"Who-you mean?"

"So Alma, if ever you let me down. I will try to understand your situation. I won't be angry before I listen to your explanation. But if I'm negligent please remind me, as a wife reminds her husband," Jafar wrote.
