Part 19: The Unexpected Wedding

...19: The Unexpected Wedding...

"Alma is getting married now."

The sudden decision that Alma took made the entire eye in the room look at him. News of an unexpected wedding? Alma thought it was better, because for him it was a very good time.

"Alma ...," said Umm Salamah.

Alma turned his gaze to Umm Salamah. "Why Ummi? Alma is getting married now. Ummi doesn't have to wait six months la-"

Ummi Salamah refuted, "It's not about waiting anymore, son. But don't make the in-" decision"

"At the wrong time? That's what Ummi meant?" After refuting Ummi Salamah's words, Alma decided to look and turned to look at Aunt Maryam's body with sadness. Then back to saying, "Alma think this is the right time Ummi. After all here is Jafar, if he is willing, this marriage will be done Ummi."

Seen Jafar just stared straight at Ummi Salamah, the Netra Jafar that Alma glanced at at a glance seemed hesitant, maybe the marriage that he hoped would not happen today.

To be honest, I want Aunt Maryam present at my wedding ...

Jafar placed a piece of paper beside Alma that read, "I'm willing."

"Wedding, Auntie?" suhut Lutfan's.

Umma Sarah who was just silent, suddenly said, "Firza. Brother of Alma's father, will be here soon."

About Firza?

Is he here?

"But we can't wait too long" said Lutfan.

Uncle Idrus nodded. "You're right, son. My wife's body should be buried immediately."

"Assalamualaik."

A very unexpected coincidence. Om Firza and Aunt Bunga have come at the right time, after shaking hands with Uncle Idrus, Aunt Bunga approached Alma. While Om Firza as if he had known everything, chose to sit next to Jafar.

"Nr-te ... Alma wants to get married now" said Alma Lirih.

Aunt Bunga nodded. "Tante knows, Alma. Om Firza is coming. He'll be your guardian, son."

The marriage that should be mixed happy and haru, became the most painful and sad day for Alma. No compulsion, this is his own will - worship that should happen six months from now will be accomplished tonight.

"Then the dowry, Mom?" ask Lutfan to Jafar.

Jafar pulled out a white gold necklace inside the front pocket of his cocoa shirt. Then with a bow he wrote something and after that handed a necklace and a piece of paper beside Alma sat down.

"Do you want the dowry to be just this necklace?" write Jafar.

Alma put back the piece of paper that Jafar wrote. Then his right hand slowly took out a golden necklace with a full star pendant. "What did you buy it for?"

"To be a dowry" Jafar wrote.

After reading it, a smile was clearly imprinted on Alma's face. This necklace indicates that Jafar may have married her.

"It's better to get married as soon as possible" said Om Firza.

Jafar nodded.

"Where can anyone speak sign language?" ask Firza.

Uncle Idrus said, "I can. I'll translate Jafar's words, Firza."

Alma completely forgot it turned out that Uncle Idrus could use sign language. Because he interacted so much with the people who talk at the orphanage that he often visited with Aunt Maryam.

Kabul will be implemented soon. Jafar was memorizing some hand movements that he would do later. And after Jafar was completely ready he looked at Ummi Salamah at a glance. Then turn to Om Firza and nod.

"You ready?"

Jafar nodded again.

Om Firza shook Jafar's right hand and said, "I marry and I marry you Jafar Irfanuddin's brother Azmi bin Hairul Anam with Almahyra Azzahra bint Mustofa with his mascavine white gold necklace. Cash."

Immediately with one hand Jafar delivered a kabul ijab using sign language - which Uncle Idrus noticed Jafar's hand movements so quickly with great care.

When Jafar's hand stopped, Om Firza said, "Well?"

Uncle Idrus nodded. "Well!"

"Alhamdulillah."

Do'a is intended for the wholeness of the Alma and Jafar households. Then after that, the ring given by Aunt Maryam, Jafar pinned on the ring finger of Alma's right hand, followed by a white gold necklace he gave to Alma. Then slowly Alma's hand was raised, touched and then grasped Jafar's right hand, and kissed the back of the hand of the man who had been legally her husband.

Very happy.

Alma hoped that, whether her surrogate-Aunt Maryam or her biological mother, Anggraini would both feel a deep sense of happiness over this marriage.

...🌺...

Aunt Maryam's funeral is over. And with a heavy heart Alma had to leave this residence, because the night was getting late. Even Uncle Idrus also said, that there are new obligations that Alma must do starting tonight.

Because she is no longer the Alma she used to be, now she is a married woman. And with all the pleasures of Jafar is his leader in demanding all the good that is in this life.

"Alma, you will sleep at Ummi's house, son?" said Umm Salamah who sat in front with Umm Sarah beside him.

A piece of paper suddenly located in Alma's lap, it turns out that Jafar-who is sitting on the side seat of the car, is looking at him with a slow nod.

"You may refuse" wrote Jafar.

"Yes, Ummi" replied Alma.

Not a rejection, instead Alma confidently agreed to Ummi's request. After all, in times like these, he did not want to be alone. And if from now on must stay in the pesantren, at least there is Ummi Salamah who accompanies him.

Or maybe ... Jafar.

"Why did you agree to Ummi's request?" jafar wrote, again. Alma's right hand spontaneously picked up Jafar's pen and notebook, and inadvertently they rubbed their hands together.

Alma wrote a reply in the notebook of the man who had become her husband. "So, am I wrong?" write Alma.

Jafar shook his head strongly.

"It's been to the boarding school, Bibi," said Lutfan.

Alma was not aware, it turned out that the long journey was not felt. Just a few minutes later, he and Jafar chatted.

"Let's get down, Alma!" ummi Salamah.

Lutfan and Umma Sarah have left the boarding school. Meanwhile, Umm Salamah demanded her new son-in-law to enter the residence that had been long lived by her and her husband.

"From now on, you stay here, son."

Alma nodded slowly. "Yes, Ummi."

Ummi Salamah's view turned to Jafar who had been sitting on the gray sofa of the living room. "Jafar dear, take Alma to the room. So that he can rest. His feet still hurt."

Jafar stand. And walked ahead of his wife, but suddenly stopped because of her Umminya. "You should help your wife walk, son," he said.

Jafar turned around-approaching Alma. And with mixed feelings and a pounding heart, he touched Alma's left arm and led his wife into the room, until he stopped holding Alma in bed.

"Thank you" said Alma Lirih.

With a little look up Alma saw the digital wall clock shows at 22.25 WIB, it was almost late. Then Alma's view circulated and passed on one by one the objects and whatever was in Jafar's room; the bathroom inside, the wooden cabinet one, gray-white paint, and many more.

"Where are you going?" alma asked when she saw Jafar had changed clothes, about to leave the room.

"Ja--" Alma's words came to a halt. And at once he lowered his head, seeing Jafar choose to leave without intending to look at it in the least.

Dupus.

It seemed like Jafar, did not accept his presence in this residence.

But a few minutes later, Jafar's footsteps approached, and suddenly her husband handed her a satin nightgown with long arms and legs, not forgetting the instant veil.

"W-what?"

Jafar put the clothes on the bed. Then walk up to the dresser, and pick up a notebook and a pen. Fourteen seconds from what Alma had calculated, her husband turned around. So he gave the notebook to her.

"Change your clothes with this. So that the wound on your leg is easy to breathe and can be treated again," Jafar wrote.

• the Alma italic heart sound, the note that Jafar wrote italic, Jafar's speech in the movement of the italic lips. So please remember, huh? So that you are not confused.

• while with her parents, Alma calls herself Alma. When with fellow women (as with Mardiyah, Salsa) Alma calls herself me. And while talking to Lutfan or Jafar, Alma called herself me.
