Way Home
56. meet

It's noon. Hazri was still sleeping in the room of the inn she entered early this morning after dropping off the Goddess. The type of inns that are not complicated about the identity of the guest, which is important there is more money. By midday, Hazri had not yet woken up. Tired as it seems, born and inwardly.

By five o'clock in the afternoon, he had just woken up. And, the first thing to do is check ‘Rogo Swara’. Aman. Hazri sat on the edge of the bed drinking the available bottled water. His mind flew to the Goddess. He desperately wants his heart to contact this girl again, but he is detained because he realizes it is too risky for the Goddess if it is discovered that he meets Hazri. Finally, Hazri contacted Romi, telling her she was ‘holiday’ in Jogja.

Hazri in Jogja, Romi and the others asked to meet. Just kangein. During the ten months of being a fugitive, only three times Hazri met his main men besides Romi. With Romi, at least once a month they must meet for coordination. Hazri doesn't mind, Romi proposes a meeting place in the Gondokusuman area, in an empty shophouse near Kopeng's house. Eleven o'clock tonight. Hazri assures me, she knows how to move that place.

“You brought Mansion, Bang?” ask Romi.

“By if any.”

“Beres, Bang..”

Waiting for time, Hazri just slept in his room while reading the newspaper he bought earlier. News of the police's thug-cleansing operation is still there despite the small columns in the middle of the pages of the newspaper. It is no longer a front page headline. He was interested in a news story about a coverage of the Sekaten event held by the Yogyakarta royal party. Not the news was a name that was engraved there. Zilfa Mufidah Az - zahra. Hazri smiled wryly in longing.

Ten o'clock Hazri check out. Staying alert, he glided calmly to the agreed meeting place. An empty shophouse in the Gondukusuman area, not far from Kopeng's housing. Not hard to find. Scribbles ‘MSN’, meaning Mansion with spray paint on the iron door of one of the empty shophouses was clearly visible.

Hazri did not stop there immediately, turning several times in this shopping complex. It seems that this area is abandoned development. The rest of the material piled up here and there is not managed. The grass covered the sand dune and gravel stone. The project house is empty, the security post is also empty. But there is electricity. Street lights are on, some shophouses on the front there are also lights on inside and outside. Means there are residents even if only a few twists. Maybe they've already bought shophouses here.

After having a picture of the environment, Hazri came out again from the shopping area. He's looking for a safe place to put his car. Spin around finally met the ojek base, quite far from the shop earlier. Hazri parked her car nearby and observed for a moment the characteristics of this place. There's a small field and a mini market, that's the trend. He went down and took a taxi to the shopping complex earlier, asking to be delivered to the gate only. There is a walk.

The atmosphere was quiet, there was no visible vehicle of his men in front of the shophouse where this meeting. But, the lights in the shophouse that had been dead were now on. Hazri looks at her watch, eleven o'clock and fifteen minutes. They have arrived inside. Since becoming a fugitive, Hazri does ask his men to anticipate the vehicle every time they want to meet. Put it in a safe place, so there is still a possibility to be used to escape in a pinch situation.

Hazri stops for a while, check ‘Rogo Swara’, safe. So, he also knocked on the iron door of the shophouse. “Mansion...,” she said slowly.

“Masion...,” sounds an answer from the inside. Romi's Voice.

The iron door opened slightly, Hazri immediately sneaked in. Complete, there are all. Romi, Bagas, Tomi, and Simon. They also shake hands tightly, releasing each other...

After the kangen-kangenan event, Hazri accompanied by Romi looked at the two-story shophouse, others held a mat and prepared several bottles of drinks. On the lower floor near the bathroom, it appears that the wall has been penetrated into the back shop that backs his position.

“Copeng Cungkring's work was the same this afternoon.” Romi said without waiting for Hazri's question. “Continue breaking out there from his iron door.”

Hazri mangosteen, she slipped into the hole followed by Romi. In the shophouse this drop has also been made a translucent gap out by tearing the iron door that is already weak in eating rust. The gap is covered in plywood pieces. Hazri nodded in satisfaction. He also returned to the meeting place.

“Where is the same Couplers Cungkring?” ask Hazri while walking back.

“Stand by around here, I told you to be careful with three other Berets.”

Hazri nodded back. “Good, Rom..,” compliments. Then, he sat on the mat with the others.

“This, Bang..,” Tomi thrusts a bottle of Mansion into Hazri.

Hazri received and drank. Then they began to talk casually, which was light because it had been heavy all along.

“Read More, Gas?” ask Hazri. He found out from Romi during the phone call two weeks ago.

“Iya, Bang. Four months.” Bagas.

“Emang different our friend this one, Bang. If we are happy to just shoot, Bagas just if more stress much shooting. As a result fill here fill...,”canda Tomi.

Everybody laugh. Just messy bagas.

“Yang here fill also, Gas?” ask Hazri again. Just found out he.

Bagas nodded shyly. Hazri's men this one is the calmest, fit him first with Deni whose style is like a poet.

“By the way our money how's it going, Mon?” Hazri asks Simon after a slight laugh subsides. Simon was appointed Hazri to handle ‘administration and finance’ organization.

“Still remaining, mute for a month two months this. It is quite heavy, because there is no income at all, Bang.” replied Simon.

“Continue, children how?” Hazri asked Romi. “Still be able to survive them?”

“No problem, kids can find their own food. While this is what I say, but do not carry the name of Kopen or Beret. Walk alone,” replied Romi. “On nanyain Abang all tuh. I said Bang Hazri is fine, later there will be a time for sure to appear.”

Hazri. “Head headquarters still emptied?”

Romi nodded. “Until now still boosted intel.”

“Everything?”

Romi nodded again. “We phone-phone only.”

Hazri nodded. “In your opinion, how tight is the situation now?”

“Strictly fit if for us. The police are indeed again our nyari, Brother especially.” replied Romi. “I think other gangs are not this tight, although still mepet.”

“There is still no gap? Just make add-in kas.”

Romi was silent for a moment. “Sit has been there, Bang, only the risk is kegedean..”.

“But, right kids can still survive?” Hazri.

“Can, Bang. Not being about them.” Romi answered steadily.

“Good.”

The talk is still going on, the sad, the funny, the weird, the happy, the annoying. Lightly packed only. Meanwhile, time continued to move forward unstoppably. Hazri's watch just reported that it's three in the morning.

They were busy chatting when suddenly Hazri gasped, her ‘Rogo Swara review was pounding...

He's getting up soon. “Out! Get outside! Police...!”

All shocked, but quick to respond. They also rushed out through the escape hole made by Kopeng and Cungkring. Degup ‘Rogo Swara’ is getting faster...

“Quick! Quick...!” hazri said again.

Snapping, one by one sneak up fast. Everyone got out and was about to escape. But, late...

Coffee shop

Ruko (short for shop house) is a term for buildings that have a characteristic storey between two to five floors. The floor of the shop was used as a place to try or some kind of office while the upper floor was used as a place to live. Shophouses usually look simple and are often built with other shophouses that have the same or similar design as a complex. Shophouses are found in major cities in Indonesia and are usually occupied by middle class people.

The history of shophouses in Indonesia began with the arrival of the Chinese who tried as traders, especially those from Fujian Province, China. Chinese shophouses were built in urban areas to run trading businesses as well as residences. Thus the shop owner can directly supervise the merchandise and reduce transportation costs because there is no need to move house.

Shophouses are built in rows, right on the side of the road. Rows of shophouses can be concentrated in one area that forms a block, or follow a road. Because of the rows and terapit other shophouses, this type of building is only visible on the front. Shophouses in Indonesia are generally similar to Chinese shophouses in Malacca and Georgetown.

A type of shophouse that has a veranda as a pedestrian in Hokkien is usually named "lau-kha", "goo-kha-ki", "tinng-a-kha" translates to "five feet", or "fifth foot", it is common in cities in Fujian or Chinatown in Southeast Asia.
