The Lost Sky

The Lost Sky

Laughter rang out filling the garden, a little girl running around among the flowers blooming beautifully. The girl's laughter brought joy to everyone who saw her, including her father and mother, and of course her servants felt the same way.

"Dad, Mom, take a look at this!" he said, carrying the flower crown he made.

"Don't run! It will fall, dear," said the mother with a gentle smile.

The reproved child did not listen, he continued to run without listening to his mother's worries. The girl continued to laugh and run, until she accidentally stumbled and almost fell. "Yes ...!" the screech closed his eyes.

Warm hands rushed to catch the tiny body before it completely fell to the ground. "Fyuh, thankfully it was still time," the helper sighed in relief. "Listen to your mother's words, baby. Don't run around" said the man to help the princess get back on her feet.

"Thank you, dad!" said the little girl smiling widely. "I know that I'll be fine as long as there's a father to protect me!" he said as he kissed the father's cheek quickly. "It's for dad!" add the little girl dressed her father in the flower crown she made.

"But you still have to be careful, baby," said the mother. "We don't want you to do anything" he continued.

"Well, ma'am," said the child obediently. The little girl also wore her mother another flower crown she made as well. "Mother is so beautiful!" it was like seeing an angel who became his mother.

"You're the prettiest, baby!" mom and dad said at the same time. For them, the princess was the most beautiful gift that complemented their lives. The little elf brought laughter in their previously happy lives now growing happier due to her presence.

His third smile was transmitted to the servants who were witnesses of the happiness of the small family. The smile that is thought to never fade forever, apparently can disappear overnight.

A night this poor little girl will never forget. The most painful night for a boy who does not understand the cruelty of the world. The night that turned his life into hell. The night that makes him wish death picks up, if only he did not remember his promise to his mother to continue fighting and surviving. The night that made him the only one left of his family because of an assault he didn't know why.

The little girl ran back, and she ran without looking back. There was no cheerful smile, his face was filled with tears. His heart was racing, his legs were hurting, but he couldn't stop running because his mother kept telling him to leave. He did not dare to look, he did not want to see his mother and father who were somehow where he was at this time.

"Run, I have to keep running!" the little boy's murmured strengthened his heart. "Mother and father will pick you up in a moment if I follow their words!" said again.

The clattering of steps sounded from behind, the girl closed her eyes and continued to run. He did not dare to look around, nor did he dare to stop running even though he was tired. "Give up, boy!!!" a voice he had never heard before screamed loudly. The little girl gasped for a moment, but then she ran back after wiping her tear-filled face.

"Dad and mother are waiting, boy!" say the same voice.

The little girl stopped her steps, she stood up while looking down. A drop, two drops, her tears fell again. "Dad! Mama!" yells slowly.

"Yes! As for the size of a little brat, you are so hard to catch?!" the owner of the voice who has spoken since. The man pulled the back collar of the little boy so he wouldn't run away again. "Let's see what we get" he said, drawing laughter from other men.

"Woah, white skin, blue-colored gems, and fine dangling golden-yellow hair. Nobles are indeed nobles without needing to be seen twice," he was amazed.

"Where are my mom and dad?" the little girl asked, throwing away her fear. He wanted to meet his mother and father more than he cared about the fear he felt.

"You want to meet?" ask the man to smile. A smile that did not look good and scary in the boy's eyes.

The boy nodded slowly. "Then answer me! What's yourname?" he smiled back strangely.

The big-bodied man chuckled amusedly. "Well, I'll take you to see your father and mother. But, as payment you should always listen to my words after this!" he said he made a deal.

The little girl who had not even turned ten years old nodded in agreement without a second thought. He only needed to meet his mother and father, after which his father would definitely take care of everything. He's sure that's what's going to happen.

They turned around, passing the previous street, back to the house that Aira had occupied all this time. Aira frowned, the sight was terrifying. In the land of many flooded with red water, many workers who work in their homes lie in any place. "What's wrong?" said the man carrying Aira.

"Are they asleep?" asked Aira with a plain face.

A laugh sounded after Aira asked. "You can think of it that way! But they're asleep for good!" the man's snort sounded a little scary.

"Find me, which is your father and mother. I forgot their faces!" the man took Aira down from his carrier.

Aira blinked several times, before stepping among the humans she thought were asleep

"Boss, doesn't this matter?" ask one of the men.

"Yes, boss. We should leave after our mission is over!" the other timbal reminded.

"You doubt my decision?" the threat-filled eye glances were given instantly to his men.

"Sorry, boss. We're guilty!" they said in unison.

"Can't that kid we use as a tool in the future?" kekeh the man saw a smile fluffy on Aira's face. It seemed that the boy had already found his father and mother among the many piles of corpses they had killed before.

"Dad! Mama! It's Aira! Wake up, there's a kind uncle who leads Aira to meet you," said Aira constantly trying to wake her father and mother. There was no response, both of them closed their eyes without moving.

"Uncle, my mom and dad why?" ask the little girl.

"Look at your hand, boy!" kekeh in the man called uncle felt funny because Aira had not been aware of the situation that befell them.

Aira's eyes widened. Her mother and father were injured. "Blood! Uncle, my parents are hurt! Please help them!!!" said panic.

The man still chuckled wickedly, he walked over and whispered like a demon. "Dad and mother are dead, boy! And we, this good uncle who put them in such a condition!" said confessed.

Aira was silent, no whining. She was shocked to hear the confession from the man she thought was her helper. "No, no! No!!!" the little girl shouted before losing consciousness.

"Come, we're going!" said the man with a look of indifference. "Bring him!" he said again before actually leaving the Aira residence accompanied by a very evil-sounding laugh. That night, Aira's entire residence was devoured by fire. There was nothing left, not even the surrounding forest was burned and leveled with the ground.
