Yu Jie had just entered the hall of the Bai clan as Bai San was sitting there with a warm smile, as if already so waiting for his arrival after the past few days was busy looking for the fruitless Xia Mei.

“How are you, Patriarch Jie?" ask Bai San.

Yu Jie only smiled faintly before saluting his face, not wanting any pleasantries so immediately asked Bai San for the reason to meet him a few days ago.

Bai San only nodded slowly, after which he told Bai Yin to leave because he wanted to speak to Yu Jie with four eyes.

Bai Yin initially refused, she was not even satisfied to see Yu Jie so she did not agree with her father's orders.

“My daughter, aren't there things you should take care of now? Father will be angry if those royal people dare to enter here without permission, so hold them while Patriarch Jie is talking to Father" Bai San said.

Bai Yin immediately snorted in annoyance, a moment later walking out while saying, “Totaling alone, this is all because you guys came all of a sudden I so couldn't be with Young Master Jie any longer."

Chief Yu Jie was in pain at the thought of Xia Mei's disappearance, in that situation of course there was no desire of her to discuss something like an engagement or the like.

Bai San not long after took something from his cloak pouch, those were some notes that Yu Jie had asked about.

“Look." Bai San gave some of the notes to Yu Jie.

Yu Jie immediately frowned reading the note, the contents had something to do with Xia Mei making Yu Jie look at Bai San fixedly hoping that Bai San would have more information than this.

Bai San immediately explained when Yu Jie's father was still alive, Yu Jie's father and himself gradually investigated something that had been done for years and had only stopped when Yu Jie's father disappeared.

The thing they were investigating themselves was Xia Mei's true identity as well as her place of origin, because Xia Mei was indeed not a native of the Yu clan but rather a little girl who was found in the forest near the clan before being raised as a child by Yu Jie's father.

Bai San immediately laughed out loud, after which said, “You can call me Dad if you want, on condition that you be my daughter's life partner."

Yu Jie simply responded to it with a soft slack, Bai San responded with a joking joke before the conversation continued to discuss the lighter one.

Yu Jie as well Bai San was still engrossed in conversation when the door of the hall suddenly opened forcibly, there had been a young woman as well as an old man from the Iron Armor kingdom that Bai Yin had expelled earlier.

Yu Jie only raised his brows as Bai San had already glared sharply at the two, Bai San seemed wrathfully questioning their sassiness when Bai Yin suddenly caught up with a panicked face.

“Dad, Young Master Jie, I'm sorry for this commotion because both of them are really thick in face and refuse to leave even after I've been kicked out so many times" Bai Yin explained.

The young lady as well as the old man only ignored Bai Yin, the two of them preferred to approach Yu Jie as well as Bai San before kneeling down with a face of despair.

“Sorry for our presumptuous attitude, Patriarch San, Young Master. We have no other choice because your help is the only one the kingdom is hoping for right now." Old man with a faint voice.

“True, please for all of you to at least hear our complaints," said the young woman in a similar tone.

Bai San in the midst of his anger just stared at the two in silence, a moment later glanced at Yu Jie because from the beginning he knew there was a problem between Yu Jie and the two before coming there.

“It's up to you, son Jie. You want to give them a chance to explain excuses to dare to be presumptuous or punish because of that presumptuous attitude, do everything you want to both. After all, the royal family will not be able to do anything if something happens to them here" Bai San said.

Old men as well as young women immediately gulped their saliva, their bodies trembling in fear rather doubt whether the reckless actions they just performed were appropriate or not.

Yu Jie simply nodded, Bai San seemed to have been lazy to deal with the two of them to bestow this on him.

“I understand, Uncle San. I am good enough in judging whether something really matters or not to the extent of doing it with a life bet like the two of them," Yu Jie said with a faint but horrible smile.
