CHAPTER 25 | Are you following me

John could only see the woman taking the middle-aged man away, then he turned back to Vladimir who had escaped from the scene. After searching for information about Vladimir at the bar, John finally finds Vladimir's home address.

Arriving at the house John sees Vladimir ready to leave, and John attacks old Vladimir and renders him helpless.

“You know who meant to kill you. Is he Dakota?” ask John with a sigh.

Vladimir nodded his head in response to John's question.

“Do you know you have been an accomplice of the person who did the shooting in Turkey?” ask John back

“A..I know” Vladimir replied later.

“Tell me clearly what you know” continued John.

Vladimir took a seat and sighed before beginning his story.

“Dakota is my military comrade, we've been friends for a long time. Name's Sergei. After retiring from the military, he worked for a secret organization I didn't know about, which was tasked with recruiting people as mercenaries. I was invited to help find information from the mercenaries. Then he made contact himself with them.”

“I never asked what kind of work the soldiers were doing until one time I got the news, one of the soldiers I recommended had made an act of terrorism.”

“I asked him too, and he replied if I wanted to live prosperously, do as he requested and do not ask much, or instead I would be killed by someone who even he himself feared”

“So, I can only continue to help him without asking until your presence in the bar” said old Vladimir honestly.

“I reported your arrival to him, but I did not expect myself to be the target to be killed” said old Vladimir sadly.

John knows that old Vladimir is telling the truth, but now Sergei is in the woman's hands. So he couldn't go on to get any other information.

After John leaves old Vladimir, he calls Jiro to find information about the Sergei. An hour later, John got information on Sergei's location, and headed there immediately.

A house on the outskirts of Minsk, there is no activity in the house. John then tries to break into the house to find information about Sergei or his organization.

As he stepped into the house, he was suddenly attacked by someone. John dodged the attack, then the attacker again attacked him. John again evaded the black-clothed assailant who only showed his eyes, when John examined his figure, he suspected his attacker was a woman. Then John moved faster and brushed off the woman's face until the lid of her face slipped off.

Looks like a beautiful figure he has known who caught Sergei earlier. John then jumped away from her while raising his hand forward to stop the woman's attack.

“Stop miss” shouted John.

The woman stopped her attack, then looked intently at John and asked “Who are you. Why are you looking for Dakota?”

“My name is John. John Araga's. I'm looking for Dakota because I want to know who's behind him” John replied to the woman.

The woman did not continue her question, then turned around to leave.

“Nona, may I know what your name is.” John asked next

“If we are destined to meet again, I will tell you” replied the woman as she passed.

John could only be stunned to see the woman's departure. It was a difficult woman to face, John thought. Then he immediately ransacked Sergei's house to find clues. But Sergei was completely clean, leaving no leads in his house. John could only sigh, all back to the beginning.

Then John went back to his hotel, then brewed coffee upon his arrival in his room. What a tiring day, John murmured. Then he sat down on the sofa thinking about the whole incident today trying to find a clue.

Everything was dead, John closed his eyes to rest. Shortly after closing his eyes, John's phone rang “Halo” John said.

“I'm fine Sara. What about you guys there?” ask John back.

“We are fine here.” says Sara

“You're not playing around with another woman, are you?” sara asked the next one who sounded suspicious.

John's eyes twitched hearing Sara's question, he sighed.

“I've been busy lately, so where do I get to play around”

“Review if you dare to mess with another woman” threatened Sara across the street while hanging up her phone which made John shiver.

John's head suddenly became dizzy thinking about it, then he continued his rest.

In the evening, John returns to the city of Minsk to relax and hope to find another clue. Then he entered another bar crowded by visitors.

Arriving inside the bar, John's eyes looked around him. Suddenly he saw the figure of the woman last afternoon who was dancing listening to music in the bar. John walked slowly closer to her.

“It looks like we are indeed destined to meet” whispered to the ear of the woman who was shocked and then tried to slam John for his reflexes.

But John is not just anyone who can easily be slammed. They struggle until the woman almost falls but is then hugged by John to keep him from falling.

Plaque!

A slap landed on John's cheek which he could not avoid as both of his hands were hugging the woman's waist. The woman's face was red, while John's face was also red but swollen which made John aware and reflex released his grip which made the woman fall to the floor.

The woman snorted, then left the bar upset on her face. John went after her and called her.

“Nona, stop” shouted John who then stopped the woman's steps.

“I'm sorry for the incident that shocked you” John said gently.

The woman looked up with her face closing in on John. John was reflexively retreating while holding his swollen cheeks seeing the arrival of the woman towards him. Never had he seen such an angry woman with such a fierce face.

“Good. I'll forgive you. But you have to buy me eat”.

“Alright” replied John with relief.

They looked for a nearby place to eat, then started ordering food. John, who was sitting in front of the woman, was feeling uneasy because the woman had been staring at him sharply.

“Is something wrong miss?” ask John.

“No. I was just wondering, why in a day my luck is unlucky three times to meet you” said the woman.

John's eyes twitched, he didn't expect himself to bring bad luck to others.

“Are you following me?” tanyanya returned

“Ah no miss, I never intended to tail you. It's just a coincidence” said John while grinning.

The surrounding air felt frozen, John did not know what to say to melt this atmosphere.
