Catalina threw her shoes and not long after that her body followed her down with a loud bang and rolled for a while before landing perfectly. Despite falling on the dry foliage, given how high the walls he passed, he felt his body was not okay.
Fortunately there are no dangerous objects, if there are and hit his head, maybe his head could be injured or maybe a concussion.
Catalina stood up and stretched her body with light movements. Although he managed to escape, but his bones felt crumbled and his body hurt all. Given how high the wall he had to climb and then he jumped, he felt like a thief. No matter how many life-threatening dangers, the important ones could escape.
It's a completely nonsensical but real principle.
After feeling better, Catalina let out a long sigh and stared at the wall once more while cleansing her body and tidying up her appearance. Fortunately it was just his appearance that was messy, his clothes were not too dirty, so just needed to tidy it up a little, it was already fine.
Before leaving, Catalina decided to count the loot first. He took the money in his bra and then counted it. There are three pieces of pound notes and each is worth fifty. So in total there were a hundred and fifty pounds that he managed to steal.
Damnit.
He is a clean man. He always makes money the right way. But today and for the first time he's really stealing. Something he obviously never imagined.
Not wanting to be shackled by guilt, he took his shoes and hurried away. He did not want to waste any longer here because that person could be conscious at any time and they could have found him.
He watched the surroundings and after making sure everything was safe, he ran as fast as he could.
Because the house is located in the suburbs and is quite remote, he sure will not find a bus or taxi. So all he could do was rely on his own strength, could only rely on himself.
Fortunately, he was used to this kind of thing. Running, dodging, drifting away, hitting, hard life that is not suitable for a girl, she goes through it all without batting an eye. So don't ask how good he is at this. Think of it as everyday food.
After reaching the highway, Catalina became much calmer. But because he did not know where he was now, he did not relax his vigilance. He did not slow down his pace and continued to run.
Not knowing how long or how far he ran, but a patch of sweat began to appear on his forehead. He paused just to take a breath and looked back to make sure no one was chasing him. With his shoes in his right hand, he resumed his journey.
He ran back and ran.
After seeing the bus stop a short distance away, he became a little calmer and his running rhythm also slowed down. His chest went up and down and he wiped the sweat on his forehead.
Despite having some money in his hands, he had absolutely no intention of using it. He walked slowly and when passing through the minimarket, his footsteps did not stop at all.
He did not want to buy anything. Although his legs hurt from running barefoot, he stopped himself from buying anything with the money he stole from the bastard. After all he brought it as a backup just in case something was urgent. If there were no such things, then the money would remain intact.
Catalina sat herself at the stop and placed her shoes next to her.
He's very tired. Really tired.
Never before had he felt this kind of sensation after living here. And now he finally feels it. If it was in Valdes, he could no longer count using his finger how many things like this had happened to him.
But somewhere else another story.
After living here, he lived a fairly peaceful life. Only now did he finally feel what anxiety was. Anxiety for a few things. One of them was due to Tatiana.
Catalina leaned her back and folded her legs then looked forward, deep in thought.
He was willing to give himself to anyone who dared to pay him a high price.
So is the innocent and naive nature that people always say about her just a guise? Was it just a shield to cover up her rottenness?
Catalina covered her face and her eyes turned red, almost crying. He never felt so despicable even with the rough work he had been doing, with the shabby clothes he was wearing and the ramshackle apartment he lived in. But after knowing that his twin sister turned out to be a firefly, he felt what he called a nista.
He felt his body was very dirty even though the one who slept with many men was his sister. Perhaps that was why Sehan hated Tatiana and forbade her from approaching Lexus. It turned out that after knowing Tatiana like that, he hated her as well. Hate and hate come from the bottom of his heart.
But he did not forget the reason why Tatiana was like that. Because of his inability. If he could guard and protect her, the girl would not be mired in the abyss of sin and wallow with many other sins including the consumption of illegal drugs.
He believes his addiction to drugs also comes from there, from his association with people who are not right, from a bad environment.
But other things also add to the confusion. One of them is Nick. Does the man really not know if Tatiana is living life as a bed-waiter? Nick is the manager, and the man should know everything about Tatiana from private affairs to public affairs. It was impossible for the man to know nothing about the artist beneath him.
And another strange thing is why did Sehan's parents allow his precious son to be engaged to such a girl? The Geffreys are no ordinary family. If looking for a mate for his son, they will obviously choose a good girl and come from a distinguished family and most importantly his past and origins should also be clear.
But why would they let his eldest son marry a night girl? Could it be that they did not know Tatiana such a girl? But is it possible that they missed such an important detail? Or maybe they knew it but let it go?
Anything can happen and all possibilities can be true. But before finding the answers to those questions, he still had to figure it out in order to find out more.
An old man who looked to be in his sixties was sitting not far from Catalina. When he saw a girl looking tired and uninspired, he opened his voice, "Smoking is not good for your health. But do you know, when you smoke all the noise in your head suddenly disappears and what you feel is just calm."
Catalina jerks. He looks. The old man, what is talking to him?
The old man took out a cigarette and a match from his jacket pocket then extended it to the girl. "You want a cigarette?" said again.
Seeing a man reach out a cigarette to him, he could not help but be curious. "Forku?"
"Uh huh." The old man nodded.
Catalina smiles. She bit her lips and wanted to laugh at herself. They are strangers. He does not know her and he does not know her. But why is that guy so kind and caring about her?
Looking at the cigarette in her hand, Catalina knew it was just a cheap cigarette commonly sold in the minimarket at the cheapest price, and even cheaper than the one she used to use. But how good the man was, he did not mind accepting it.
He took one stick and ignited it and returned it to the old man. "Thank you" he said. Then he took out the three pieces of money he had. "For you!" He put the money down and pushed it to the man.
The man looked at the money and then looked at Catalina. And the look of astonishment was clearly imprinted on his face.
"You can take it" Catalina said, smoking her cigarette. It felt really bad, yet just by remembering that person's small kindness, the bad taste disappeared in an instant. "I don't need it anymore" he continued. He really doesn't need that money. There was a person who was kind and cared for him, that was all he could do to repay his kindness.
The old man received his money and thanked him very much before the bus stopped and took him away.
Catalina stared at the bus slowly moving away and her lips curved into a smile. Only people who have been at the same point can understand the feelings of others.
