Hellbents
Chapter 4: Eve

Darkened.

Consciousness intact. Ava tried to open her eyes but her eyesight was filled only with a black void. Silent. His body could not be moved or .. he just did not feel it. This happened again, just like four days ago when he moved into this fantasy world. But unlike the white void that instinctively makes it uncomfortable, this time the emptiness feels.

That's when he heard, “Halo.” Then a beam of light shone on the figure of the petite-looking girl with short black hair and sharp and cold charcoal eyes.

Himself. No, very identical to Ava, in addition to a fancy black dress that she obviously never wears.

“Who?” Ava's mouth didn't move, but her mind sounded by itself.

The figure that was asked smiled, still with his cold gaze. “I am you.”

“Omong empty. I expect answers without philosophical puzzles.”

The cynical laughter of the figure in front of him was echoing in the dark silence.“But what I said was true. I am you, more clearly a version of yourself in a different dimension.”

“So you're the culprit who kidnapped me into this world?" If he claims to be a version of Ava in a different dimension,

it means that he is the original inhabitant of this world, there is an identity that wears his real face. But how does he carry Ava across the boundaries of space and time? For what purpose? But he already knew his priority, "Now, how do I get back?”

"Oh, I thought you were going to attack me right away."

"It would be my pleasure to do it if only my body could move." Although his entire movement was frozen, Ava's sight remained fierce.

"Hm, we're in our shared space of consciousness, so if one of us gets hurt, the consequences will be felt by both parties. Plus if there is a problem, the lightest result is dizziness, the heaviest even death."

"Kidnapping a stranger from another world, then imposing a similarly defeated situation, aggravated by the use of high-risk abilities. If you're really my version of this dimension, I think you're desperate."

"Ah, right? Unfortunately I'm."

"But I don't see how any of your business is my problem. So, my dear kidnapper, give me back to the original world!"

“Hah! Well, if you say I kidnapped you, it doesn't seem right.”

“If you answer in a convoluted manner again, I assume you intend to deceive me.”

The business smile he often saw in the mirror appeared. “Yeah, so stiff heck!” This time he laughed loudly. The mat! A flick of his finger brought up the book floating above his palm. “More important information is in this book. You can check it yourself, I put it in your [Inventory], just call it like [Status] to call it. Well, now," the twin stepped back, the light that was originally shining down even more without leaving a shadow, "See you again!”

“Wait, hey!”

“Oh, by the way my name is Eve.” Ava was annoyed with the arrogant tone in her last words, but had not had time to respond, her body felt like it was falling.

A rumble instantly appeared with a thunderous roar. Ava jumped up from her sleep, her body wet with sweat. Lightning flashes can be seen whipping up the dark night sky due to the rain.

“[Inventory].” A screen showing 4x4 rows of boxes immediately appeared, and in the upper left box there was a book he had just seen.

So it's not just an ordinary dream.

***

The contents of the book, which turned out to be a journal, were mostly recipes of the results of experiments involving plants, monsters, and humans. After a quick look at such titles, “Relonnecting body parts with potions from Tree of life”, “Making sleeping gas with Nightingale” monster powder, as well as “Lifting the curse of Blood Deprived”, Making sleeping gas, Ava finally came to the last page explaining about two artifacts that he said were relics of [The developer].

A Necklace of genesis can free an individual from the bonds of time. So that the cooldown problem can be resolved, the skill can be applied at any time, during any time. I don't know how Adam could have gotten an artifact that I can't even know the information about, but I think he's useful, too. For now, I have stored the item in my lab in Crimsonwood.

Looks like this is what Eve meant by returning me to the real earth. But wouldn't the artifact hypothetically apply only to skills, not alien existences like people from other worlds? But even a Ring of Genesis lookout was too common, as big as a country, it would take a long time to get it.

Hm.

The only choice he could make was to head for Crimsonwood now. He opened another history book that happened to include a map of the world on his final page. The Kingdom of Edodale was on the island of the same name, separate from the continent of Meridianam. Faraway. Because the existing transportation equipment is also limited, it can take months to get there. Ava doesn't have that much time. Is it just using a teleportation portal? But he did not have the money needed, let alone permission from the king.

Given that Ava will be in this world for the next few months, then she will have to find as many coins as possible for the needs of life. The most obvious choice right now was to hunt monsters and steal artifacts that could be sold.

“Which is thinking about what?” River suddenly asked. Ava turned her head, finding River ready with a large pouch wrapped around her back.

“Not placed in [Inventory] only?”

Embarrassedly, the man replied, “Don't fit, my other stuff I've put in.”

Ava does like people who are ready to be on standby, but it seems like River has gone overboard. Well, I'm not going to ban. “Now we rent andong general only.” But before he stepped up, River interrupted. “If transportation let me take care of it. Um," River fidgeted in his footing, he secretly glanced at Ava timidly. Moments later, he finally said, "[Summon: Lig].”

A grey-haired wolf as big as a horse instantly appeared. Ava who had just wanted to grab the gun on her waist immediately stopped when she realized that the wolf was behaving docilely towards River. Still stroking the big wolf's head, River said in a relieved tone, “You don't have an allergy to wolf fur right?”

“No,” reply Ava a little stiff. Is this what you call skill? So the basis of this [System] is just calling what we need, then it will automatically appear so.

If not wrong, the skill he got was ....

“[Observation].” Suddenly there were two screens plastered over the head of River and the wolf.

Name: River Doyle

Race : Human

Level 43

Name: Lig (owned by River Doyle)

Race: Iron wolf

Level 30

If ordinary people had a maximum of level 10, then River was a powerful elite person, not to mention his ability to summon monsters that were also level. Ava is level 1. The girl was relieved that her decision was right not to make River her enemy during her stay.

“We ride him only, faster than andong general, free anyway. As long as I don't fight, Lig can call for 12 hours, then cooldown for 8 hours. With his speed, the distance from here to Tezia can be reached in just one day if we ride him. Come, ride!” River excitedly explained, then riding on the back of the big wolf like riding a horse, he extended his hand to Ava, who was greeted by the girl with pleasure.

Save and fast.

River was an advantage more than he had expected.

"Oh yeah, I guess we'll be together for a few days, don't be so formal with me."

Ava's business smile was brand-new, "Ok."
