Thousand Stories: The Punishment of the Guard

The body fell weakly amid the torrential rain. The weather that night was so cold and agonizing for those who passed the night under the rain water that was as cold as the weather that was blowing. He had just crouched down and took shelter of the store emperor he passed by.

"Why did it suddenly rain in this cold weather!!" his weakness while shivering.

He rubbed his palms under the not-so-wide storefront. Sometimes he looks around. I wish someone had passed through that place for her to ask for help.

"Take this, son!" a raucous voice and one wrinkled old hand gave him a thick, pitch-black jacket. A glimpse of the shadow flurried on the girl's memory. The old hand was wrinkled and its owner made his heart tremble violently.

"Get me a boy!" another more gentle raucous voice came voicing his desire. That indicates the other is a woman.

He looked up to see the owner of the two raucous voices he heard. A pair of old men, grandparents, all whose hair is hard to whiten. Standing under a blue umbrella that seemed so spacious to both of them, they were already wearing thick army green jackets. Even in the dim light of the day that had started the night, the color still looked shiny in his view.

"Use this, son! We brought more to stand guard" said the grandfather.

After noticing the two old men, the girl without a second thought immediately accepted the jacket given to her.

"Akhs! Good. Thank you." Thank you."

He put it on hurriedly and lifted the collar of his newly worn jacket up high to cover part of his face from the rain and cold weather that kept blowing.

"You want to go home, son?!" ask the grandmother. The girl immediately nodded. The wind blew, the grandmother leaned to the back of the grandfather who was still standing well in the middle of the extreme weather that suddenly occurred.

"Thank you for the jacket. It's getting dark, you two go home! The weather is not good either" he said politely. He realized this was a form of help for him.

It was not his intention to ask the two grandparents to leave immediately after the help they gave, but the weather was not friendly. The rain is so heavy plus strong winds and cold weather. It's not good for anyone to linger outdoors in the extreme weather tonight.

"You go home too. Don't stay here too long. Later the night hunt and a few vehicles that you can meet."

He nodded slowly. Then bowed for a moment as the two old men moved away from where they were standing

"Why does it have to be like this again!" muttered. "I've been knocked down twice in heavy rain and storms like this!"

He pulled in his snot that felt like he was going to come out in the middle of the cold weather and heavy rain that continued to pour into the area. His face looks pale. His lips began to turn blue from the cold. His hands began to expand and the long, bangy hair under his eyebrows was soaking wet.

"What is this punishment?!" his weakness.

He looked up at the edge of the store's empire dripping rainwater from its meager roof. Staring at every drop of rain that fell and soaked his face. Again his body felt cold. He slowly adjusted his breathing. Trying to sense the flow of power within him, he turned around with the intention of wanting to disappear. Then he realized that all the abilities he had were nonexistent.

He looked at both his hands. He felt cold and his hands also looked pale from the cold. He is fully aware. His punishment as a guardian was not to be reborn into the world as a human being. But living his life as a human.

He put his palm in his jacket pocket and found some money in it. He turned around again to look at the grandfather and grandmother who were still walking using his umbrella towards the derivative road.

He intended to catch up with the grandfather and grandmother to return the money that was in the pocket of the jacket given to him. But once turned around, they are difficult not in the steep enough derivative road. He really saw the whole street. But there were no houses or dwellings around the street except for one store owner that he used to shelter at this time.

"Where did they disappear?!"

The girl was stunned when suddenly a two-light beam of light shot out from under the derivative street. A white car passed through the place towards the end of the ramp. The car he knew who owned. Because a few times, he was in that car with the driver.

The car passed through. The shadow of the driver's figure caught the attention of the girl who now increasingly lowered her face on the collar of the neck jacket she used high. The young man behind the wheel was still the same person. With the same smile and laughter.

But he who was sitting next to the driver made the girl stare carefully. The girl with the spoiled smile that managed to make the driver fall for her.

"Indeed what has happened is meaningless." he said shivering in the cold.

The car passed at the end of the ramp. Turning towards the street that he recognized as the path of the climb where he used to live with his grandfather and grandmother who took care of him when he was trapped in the memory of a 2-year-old girl until his figure became a teenager. He was pensively lit by the lights on the house at the end of the ramp that suddenly flickered like it was about to die.

"Is this a kindness from you!"

The girl smiled. He stepped in the rain, slowly drizzling as hard as when he received first aid from two parents who gave him a jacket he was now wearing.

"Thank you!" he looked up at the sky for a moment. Then forced his steps on the cold weather in the midst of the drizzling rain.

He stepped slowly. Look again at the car that stopped at the end of a shop that was once a newspaper post and a milk seller that became the place to work for money. Again he stopped his steps when he saw the driver of the car opening the car door to the girl next to his wheel. Laying on the woman, then entered the store that had turned into a small dining area in the housing complex.

Shortly before the driver closed his umbrella and prepared to go inside, he saw the girl's stranded steps when he found out the driver of the car was looking at him. The driver gave the umbrella to the girl. But the girl immediately ran across the place on the other side of the car.

The driver's gaze could not be separated from the girl whose face was partially covered by the collar of his jacket. There was a vibration that made him feel that he recognized the figure of the running girl well. The wet hair that fluttered as he ran, made the driver stare and compare the girl he had been with.

"Eren! Come sit!" bring the girl in the restaurant.

"Yes!" answer the young man. "Wait a minute" he answered, closing the blue umbrella.

Hang it on the hanger on the outside door of the restaurant, then go inside to sit and enjoy the food served.
