Ancient Strengthening Technique: Chapter 25 - Library of the Qing Clan, Elder Lin appeared!

“Get insights, about the road of Heaven?” Thoughts swirled in Qing Shui's mind as he heard this.

Qing Shui recalled the state of enlightenment he had achieved earlier, and he knew very well the tremendous benefits that came from it. Every time one completed his meditation in a state of enlightenment, the benefits obtained far exceeded 10 years of hard work. But other than enlightenment, is there no other way to gain insight into the path of Heaven? There seems to be no other way. After all, obtaining a bright view of the Heaven's Path depended on one's karma and destiny, the majority of cultivators would never experience that special state of enlightenment in their entire lives! Some would even experience encounters similar to Qing Shui, entering that special state, but not at the peak of Houtian!

Unsure, just as Qing Shui wanted to ask Qing Yi about another method that allowed one to gain insight into the Heaven's Path, Qing Yi interrupted.

“Qing Shui, we have arrived at the library!”

Qing Shui looked down and realized that they had reached the end of the road. In front of him, there was a 3-story building that was entirely constructed from heavy stones. A secretive and slightly oppressive feeling permeated the atmosphere. There were no windows in this building, even the entrance was made of sturdy stone slabs!

The width of the door is approximately 3m long, with a height of 4m. Hanging above the door was a plaque carved with 3 words, "Qing Clan Library"!

The stone door to the library was tightly closed. At the end of each year, the library is only open for two months. For two months, this, disciples with the same or higher cultivation level of a Grade 6 Martial Warrior would be able to enter and have the opportunity to choose from a large collection of martial techniques suitable for their cultivation. For another ten months, only the direct descendants of the Qing Clan had the chance to enter. The remaining disciples could only enter for the last two months of the year.

This was the first time Qing Shui had seen the library. After all, the Qing Clan still had its own rules. Although the collection did not consist of many rare and valuable books, it was still many martial technique books and was as diverse as that

(Continental Medical Annal) lying around.

In addition to martial techniques, there were also cultivation arts located in the 3rd and 2nd level libraries. Relatively more common martial books and guidelines with lower grades would usually be placed at the first level. Qing Clan disciples who reached the required cultivation level, were allowed to browse through books and manuals, and even copy them. The only limitation is that you will not be allowed to divulge clan techniques to outsiders!

Walking to the entrance, with the exertion of strength that could not be considered light or heavy, Qing Shui excitedly raised his hand and knocked on the stone door 3 times. "Boom, Boom, Boom" the voice echoed in the courtyard.

After a while, the heavy stone door opened, a senile-looking old man with turbid eyes and a head full of white hair appeared. Qing Shui stared silently, this old man's clothes were completely different from what Qing Shui expected of someone like this. The old man looked like he could not be bothered with the slightest bit of his personal hygiene, yet his clothes were the epitome of cleanliness.

"Elder Lin, I brought Qing Shui to the library to borrow some books!" Qing Yi greeted the old man respectfully.

Seeing her smile, Qing Shui felt that Qing Yi had quite a deep relationship with this old man.

“Ah, so that's you, little boy Qing Yi, come in, come in! It's been a long time since your last visit. ” Elder Lin smiled warmly. After saying that, he glanced at Qing Shui. The murky look in his eyes was replaced by clarity, but it quickly faded back to normal.

“So you are Qing Shui, good...very good!” Elder Lin with a face full of smiles, praising Qing Shui twice in a row, Qing Shui felt extremely shocked, because he knew that Elder Lin rarely praised people. Even the genius Qing Zi or Qing You had never received praise from him before. "Grandfather Lin, Qing Shui greeted you!" Qing Shui bowed low as he respectfully greeted Elder Lin.

After which, Qing Shui and Qing Yi followed Elder Lin as he led them to the library.

As they entered, Qing Shui realized that the space inside was much larger than he had imagined before, and there was almost no natural light in the library. The only light source is emitted by several wall-mounted Jadestone pearl panels. The light that the pearls emitted was gentle, but it was enough for library users to read what they wanted clearly.

Passing through the pearl panel of Jadestone, there is a row of ancient wooden bookshelves. At first glance the wood material used in the construction of bookshelves looks old and dilapidated, but if observed more closely, the wood is actually thick and heavy, giving the impression of sturdy and durable for observers. With his half-bent back, and that stooped posture, Elder Lin looked so old, one could almost mistake him for a fossil. It was said that Elder Lin had been the guardian of the Qing Clan's library since decades ago! “Older Lin, I want to borrow some books on basic medical knowledge for Qing Shui,” Qing Yi said.

Elder Lin slowly walked towards an inconspicuous corner of the library, and took out a few books covered in dust. He slightly patted the book to remove the dust and returned.

During the entire process in which Elder Lin picked up the books, Qing Shui continued to monitor Elder Lin's movements. He had the intuition that this library keeper Elder Lin was not the senile and confused old man as he looked. Qing Shui felt that this old man in front of him was actually a very powerful expert! But after the thought flashed through his mind, Qing Shui secretly laughed at him. After all, the strongest in the Qing Clan was Qing Luo, how strong was Elder Lin?

“For 40+ years, these books have just been lying there collecting dust. Forget it, you don't have to return the book after you've finished doing it. Even if you don't borrow it today, sooner or later I will throw away these books. Since no one in the Qing Clan had ever read it, just take it. " Older Lin handed the books over to Qing Shui as he said expressionlessly.

Qing Shui felt that Elder Lin today was very strange. Lin Elder who everyone knew was someone who did not say much, preferring to spend his time in silence and solitude. But today, he was suddenly in a talkative mood!

Qing Shui received the books from Elder Lin, the more he looked, the more he still felt that Elder Lin was hiding his true abilities in an act of awkwardness.

“Thank you, Grandpa Lin!” Qing Shui sincerely thanked Elder Lin. After which, Qing Shui realized that other than the three medical books he had originally requested, there was an additional 4th book he did not request.

Qing Shui curiously peered into the 4th book, entitled (Basic Sword Technique)!

Qing Shui wanted to question Elder Lin, but who would have thought Elder Lin started the conversation. “After you are done with those four books, just throw them directly into the trash, you do not have to bother sending them back.”

Since he was going to throw it away, Qing Shui decided that he should keep it; after all, with titles like (Basic Sword Technique), how deep was the technique contained within? But for him right now, he could still learn something from her! After all, Rome was not built in a single day, and all lakes and oceans came from a drop of water.

Saying goodbye to Elder Lin, the heavy stone door was tightly shut as Qing Shui and Qing Yi left the library.

Qing Yi had long considered Elder Lin as part of her family. Apart from his senile and bewildered facade, he knew that deep in his heart, Elder Lin treated the descendants of the Qing Clan as his own blood and flesh. Especially Qing Yi, ever since she was young, Elder Lin would not set aside the cost and dote on her. Even now, after so many years had passed, Qing Yi still respected this old man as much as she would respect Qing Luo.

Feeling elated in her heart, Qing Shui held onto the pile of books, in his previous life, he was too addicted to games. Reading books? Visiting library? No way! Who would have thought that the current Qing Shui, of his own accord, wanted to explore the Qing Clan's library to read books!

“Man really strange unexpected!”
