Ch.68 - A Dilemma
The day before Felix woke up.
"Where are you going?!" cain shouted to see Mertie start running.
Mertie immediately took a taxi followed by Cain who did not know knowing, but Cain also could not let Mertie go alone.
"It looks like it's around here! we're down here sir!" Mertie.
"What is here, anyway? wait who paid for the cab, who?" Cain yells at Mertie who starts running away and finally wears her Daisy card again, "Bu Sissy will kill me!" Cain hits his head and starts following Mertie again.
Cain chases after Mertie, who runs non-stop even while climbing the apartment stairs and running to find the apartment number, and then stops at a door.
"I think I'm going to die!" cain said out of breath.
Mertie who had been hesitant to press the bell now did not know how many times to press the bell, "You will be scolded the same who has a house!" said Cain.
"Who?!" said a woman whose hair was gray opened the door.
Mertie unceremoniously barged straight inside making Cain panic and the mother who opened the door was furious. Cain finally went inside and saw Mertie taking a big ice box, "This kid is crazy! what do you want?!" shouted the husband of the mother who immediately threw the newspaper he read.
Mertie didn't care and just directly brought out the ice box but was stopped by the mothers, "Don't! it was a gift from the Viola company working!"
The ice box was taken from Mertie's hand but Mertie pulled it back until the meat inside was scattered along with the ice stone.
"It was the flesh of ..." Mertie's words were stopped by Cain.
"Sorry ma'am, we are disturbing .. His condition is not good!" cain silenced Mertie's mouth and pulled Mertie out.
"Let go!" Mertie threw Cain's hand.
"The meat is ...."
"Mertie!" cain shouted trying to stop.
"Is ... the flesh of the mother's own daughter!"
"Haha .. It looks like he is not doing well! alright ... I'll forgive .. You can leave now!"
"Okay, thanks!" Cain pulls Mertie's arm.
"If you don't believe me, try taking it to the Forensics section and the DNA test .. or please enjoy the flesh of your own daughter!" Mertie with a high tone.
"Mertie!"
"This kid is really crazy! get out of here before I report to the police!" yells Viola's father.
Cain now uses his remaining powers to pull Mertie out of the lake.
"They deserve to know the truth!" mertie said after Cain closed the door and walked away from the apartment.
"Sometimes they don't know the truth is the best!"
"You are so naive!" mertie's words made Cain feel offended.
"Naive said? you think once she finds out it's her own daughter's meat could make her relieved? nay! both her parents will suffer .. It's better to make her daughter disappear than to have to know the truth that can make Viola see both her parents destroyed.." Cain snapped.
"What if it disappears is good? her parents will suffer the same and you want me to let them eat her own daughter's meat! that so?!" mertie's reply was no less loud than Cain's voice.
Mertie began to obey Cain despite heavy hearts stepping away from Viola's house, "You can see ghosts right? because you can enter his world?" mertie asked as she sat at the bus stop.
"Em .. yes!" answer Cain.
"You didn't see Viola's spirit?"
"No!" said Cain did not want to tell more about the spirit that was taken away by the devil if Ted had killed someone.
"He's gone somewhere good, right? he must have calmed down by now, right? no more pain?" Mertie who keeps asking makes Cain so unpleasant continues to lie and the fact that Viola now suffers even more from being forced into Malexpir by the devil.
"That's the bus to your house coming!" said Cain was relieved there was no need to answer Mertie's question anymore.
Cain saw Mertie get on the bus, "She's gonna be okay, right?"
"You alone?" ask Goldwin.
"You think I'll be okay after seeing what happened last night?!" cain replied annoyed.
"You look fine! usually Leaure is pure when he sees the incident last night will lock himself up and will not be out of the palace for 49 days."
"Because you feel guilty? not doing a good job as a protector?" tanya Cain started taking the bus as well.
"Not ... practice! train yourself to be better and learn more to not fail again in the next rescue mission!" goldwin's words made Cain ashamed of himself.
"Why 49 days?" ask Cain.
"When the spirits are finished the trial and will be taken to another world, be it Heaven or Hell ... but on the way there they will go through a bridge that will make them see the life of their loved ones whether it is okay or not ... that's when Leaure comes out to solve the problem of spirits walking on the bridge and sees the problem has been solved by Leaure or sees their loved ones fine and can take off the burden of living to into a new world."
"That's great for pure Leaures!" said Cain.
"You're part of them too!" goldwin.
"Wait ... 49 days Mundebris or Mundclariss time?" ask Cain heboh.
"When Mundclariss is .. you can't think logically! hahh ...." Goldwin replied to his own embarrassment with Cain.
Cain just chuckled, "So it's only 49 hours Mundebris time huh? hehe .. if you think it takes thousands of years yes if 49 days Mundebris time ...."
"You'll have to learn a lot more before Viviandem is resurrected..don't embarrass myself later if you meet another Leaure .." Goldwin said staring intently.
"Yes .. yes .. but today I want to rest!" Cain leaned back and opened the bus window.
"Where are you going?" ask Goldwin.
"Want to a place where nothing will bother you!"
"Bemfapirav again? well .. After all the world seems to be making your strength rise little by little ..." said Goldwin.
"If only human destiny could change ... I'd turn back the clock and save Viola ..." said Cain starting to close his eyes.

Cain returned to the orphanage and went straight into Bemfapirav to rest and calm down. While Felix has shown signs that he will soon wake up.
