Ch.278 - Tom's Obsession
Mertie is now very careful if it is close to Felix because it already knows that Felix can read someone's mind. Trying not to say anything bad about Felix but getting arrested is getting easier to think about. Once Mertie cursed Felix all out with all the swear words she knew made Felix who was eating vomit all his food because he choked.
"How did you get used to this?" ask Mertie.
"What habits?" Teo asked back.
"Felix can read your mind .. Do you feel uncomfortable?" ask Mertie.
"Felix couldn't read our minds" Tom replied leaving Mertie gaping and long speechless with that expression.
"WHY? WHY ARE YOU EXCLUDED?" Mertie with a splash.
"We want to explain it but it's a secret, essentially Felix can't read our minds .." Teo said.
Mertie hit the table and cursed with her gaze.
"You're cursing at us, aren't you?" ask Tan.
"Felix where's Felix? I wonder what he just thought ..." said Teo looking for Felix out of curiosity what Mertie had just said with such a look.
Mertie left with an annoyed expression and kicked whatever was blocking her way.
Mertie constantly avoids meeting Felix. To communicate alone, Mertie chose to make voice calls through the phone only. Mertie had been doing that for quite a while but after a month had passed, she was getting used to it as well. This time he prefers to say everything honestly, be it bad or good because Felix has also heard everything for sure.
Mertie's personality slowly changes into a ceplos. Directly saying what he had in mind even though he knew it would hurt. Because I'd rather be a hypocrite when Felix knows what he's thinking.
The hunt for the Devil continued but after the events of the day no more Devils came to the train station or any other public transport station. But there are still perpetrators and new victims who appear. The demonic patterns were increasingly unreadable, this time not in a crowded place anymore but in a quiet place like in a small hallway or a remote village far away from the city.
The final semester arrives, when Felix and his friends must focus on learning but the Devil does not rest at all. They can't calm down in their studies.
"I can't take it anymore .. Now I don't care if I get the last rank" said Tom.
"Who was the one who strongly opposed this mission was done ...." Teo mocked.
"Now different, the Devils are now mocking us for not being able to do anything. Cain's gonna laugh at us if he's here" Tom said.
"So, you want to stop studying and go to that village?" tanya Tan closed the book.
They are currently in the self-study room throughout 5th grade and talking through the Alvauden Network without having to disturb other friends who are studying.
"Fum'at and Saturday are holidays. Let's just wait for that day .." said Felix.
"My patience is gone to wait .." said Tom.
"Tom!" felix's voice was full of emphasis.
"You're scaring me or what? but I'm not afraid of you at all, Felix! and you can't stop me either. .. if there's Cain here ...."
"He's not here." Felix stopped Tom from continuing, "Cain isn't here Tom!"
"Tom!" teo's shout made the other children look at him full of anger. Mr. Egan let Tom out because he had finished writing the summary today.
Felix senses Tom entering Bemfapirav and slowly his aura reappears in Mundclariss. The sign is that Tom has really slipped out of school. The way Mertie was not done because there had to be a plan ahead of time. If going out of school Mertie must be prepared long day to turn off the school security system after returning must be returned back to normal so that no one is suspicious. But Tom leaves suddenly without planning and discussion with Mertie first.
"What's wrong?" tanya Tan saw Felix stop picking up his book inside the locker to put in the bag.
"He's gone!" sahut Felix's.
"Don't even have dinner first .." said Teo.
"Isn't this the name obsessing? he always calls Cain and humbles himself .. To be honest, did I ever force you to do this? what is he exactly?" felix shut the door of his locker.
"Let's just say Tom is an employee at your company who dedicates himself to work" Teo said.
"It's not so .. I know what she's feeling" Tan said.
"Ohya? how come? are you just his brother? how could I not know? I'm his brother too!" teo word exaggerated.
"We don't think it's enough .." Tan said it wasn't finished.
"Enough?" ask Teo.
"We are not enough to replace the vacant position of Cain. According to him if there was Cain, surely this matter was already solved ..." replied Tan.
"Why replace? why should Cain be replaced? we don't have to obsess over being Cain to solve problems. We have our own advantages that are not owned even by Cain though .. we have the same task but different functions. Cain is the leader of Alvauden. We are not leaders, but Alvauden, the thing that leaders cannot do, we can do. Cain's not here, we're with Felix. Not everything is just done by Cain himself" Teo said.
"You are very right and very precise. What wind is it?" said Felix embracing Teo who was looking so upset.
"So we'll just let it go? Tom?" ask Tan.
"Of course not. Let's follow up and bring him back for the exam tomorrow!" felix.
Banks is not his name if he does not have a solution for those who cannot feel or see the aura of Satan. Last time, they were misled for not knowing if Satan had not switched bodies to the hypnotized. Banks provides a solution to find out if there is a demonic aura that is 100 meters away from the given object.
Actually it is a toy in Mundebris that is not in production anymore because it is long and late in the era. But Banks searched all the stores to get the toys that became rare even though in the end it could only search in the vacant Viviandem house, it is not polite to take goods when there is no owner but what can be done.
After all, the toy was found by Banks in the warehouse which of course the toy was not used anymore. The toy was a box, only open if within 100 meters there was a demonic aura. The box will open and bring up the type of Devil that is within range so that it can change its contents depending on what Devil is approaching.
In Mundebris the toy was once very salable because if there were 100 Devils within the range of detection of the toy, the contents of the box would also vary. It was interesting at first but boring too. Unlike Tan, Teo and Tom who did not find it interesting or consider it a toy. He thinks it's a creepy thing. If there are two Devils approaching then the contents of the box will come out showing the fusion of the two Devils.

"I don't understand why a creepy toy like this was made .. I won't be able to get used to it and won't be able to fit in with Viviandem's way later" Tom said, shaking his cramped hands.
