Ch.15 - Throwing Yourself Out
The feeling of being squeezed from his right and left made Felix wake up. The cold immediately enveloped him. He grabbed his blanket pulled by someone sleeping next to him.
"Sister Felix, I'm cold..."
"I don't get a ped..." Felix was shocked.
"Huh?"
"What's this?"
"What dream?"
"Or Cain, Tan, Teo and Tom. Are they just my dreams?"
"Sister Felix, can I hold you?" said the little boy again.
Felix tearfully hears that and lets Alger hug him, "Wait, it's the night before the fire at the orphanage? Gratitude.." while returning Alger's embrace.
"But Cain, Tan, Teo, Tom. My dream feels very real..."
"Alger.. Let's wake the other kids up. We need to get out of the parlour right now!"
"out? why should I go out, brother? it's cold now."
"ALGER!!! JUST DO WHAT I TELL YOU!"
Felix starts waking up the children in the orphanage one by one, but Felix forces them to get out of there.
"Where are we going, brother?"
"We need to get out of here as soon as possible!"
"Come on!" Felix pulled Alger by the hand but suddenly the small hand he held had turned to ashes.
And the other children stood in line staring at him in the flames without moving, "TIDAAAAKK!!!"
"Sister Felix has left us, our bodies are burning but due to the extreme cold, we feel nothing as our skin melts.. Brother Felix survived alone... "
"HUH..HUH..HUH..."
"Woiii.. why? just make it a shock!"
"Cain?" Felix wiped his sweat and finally looked at the wound in his hand and felt the wound on his forehead near his hair.
"The fire at the parlour is real. The smell of the fire was like I was still fresh, there was not the slightest scream I heard that night.. no. I. should have died that night too!" instantly Felix was breathless.
Cain who did not know what to do immediately panicked and screamed loudly. Mr. Egan immediately opened the tent and entered to give first aid. Felix was instantly limp and unconscious, "Se. tia ka... wan?"
"I'm the most selfish person in the world. While others were burning alive I was alive and breathing, laughing as if I didn't feel the slightest guilt when I was the only one to survive..." Felix shed tears when he regained consciousness.
"Felix?"
"Cain?"
"Emmm... How are you?"
Felix tried to get up but the infusion strap blocked him and now he started to regain his full consciousness and began to look at the whole room, "In the ambulance huh?"
"Doctor let's wait in the hospital, we'll be there soon."
"What happened to me?"
"Don't ask, I thought I had a heart attack and I told this nurse's sister to check on me but she laughed at me..."
"Basic..." Felix began to smile faintly at Cain's jokes.

Arriving at the hospital, Felix and Cain are greeted by Doctor Mari who is waiting in front of the ER.
"Felix?"
"Mrs Corliss..."
"You should have gone for fun but instead came back in an ambulance. You're this..."
"Where's TanTeTom?" ask Miss Corliss.
"They kept coming home on the school bus, ma'am, because they had to take care of our luggage" Cain replied following Felix who was pushed into the ER with a gurney.
After Felix was dealt with in the ER, he was taken to the inpatient room, "Why does Felix keep sleeping ma'am?" ask Cain worried.
"He was given a sedative so we let Felix sleep first huh Cain..." Doctor Mari stops Cain wobbling Felix to wake up.
"We go home to Cain first, let Doctor Mari keep Felix here" Ms. Corliss said.
"I want to stay here, ma'am" Cain was stubborn.
"Yes let's go to Doctor Mari's room first, you must not have breakfast, right?"
Cain follows Bu Corliss and Doctor Mari, leaving Felix who looks to sleep like a rock. Not moving at all, until Cain turned and ran towards the bed and put his hand under Felix's nose to see if he was still breathing. With a sense of relief, Cain closed the door to Felix's room and headed for Doctor Mari's room.
Evening arrived, Cain who was tired of watching television without sound in Felix's room finally woke up to go buy a snack. On the way back from the convenience store, Cain with a canteen containing many snacks and drinks. As he was about to enter the hospital door he retreated backwards and looked up.
Someone wearing a patient's shirt standing on the edge of the building with a wind blow would definitely make that person fall from the roof of the hospital.
"The black hair that was blown by the wind looked familiar," Cain said in his heart, "FELIX!" sontak Cain dropped his luggage and immediately ran.
"No. no.. Felix..just watch out for you.no. no way..." Cain who was running on the emergency stairs ignored the hospital elevator.
When he got to the door of the hospital roof he was immediately confronted by a hand, "Sssst!" doctor Mari Pinta.
Cain who was filled with sweat and difficulty breathing did not understand and only headed in the direction where his best friend was standing.
"Cloth!" doctor Mari whispered as she pulled up her arm, "We'll take a look..."
Felix stood still in the breeze that blew his hair, "What happened to Felix, auntie?"
Felix who had been silent now began to stretch his hands and raise his head. Doctor Mari who blocks Cain finally encourages Cain to go to Felix's place.
Cain immediately grabbed Felix's hand and went up near Felix, "Enjoying the scenery, huh?" Cain said with a forced smile.
"Emmm. The air tonight was very cold," Felix felt Cain's warm hand grip, "Like that night..."
The height lover was for the first time frightened on the roof of the hospital. Cain held back his fear and started making jokes and pulled down Felix to sit down.
Cain looked at Felix who was just silent and turned towards Doctor Mari who was still standing at the door. He also remembered the words of Doctor Mari earlier, "Today and later Felix will start to try to hurt himself.. He'll only survive if he has a reason to live, has someone to protect, has someone who needs it."
Cain creeped in fear looking at Felix who looked relaxed just sitting on the edge of the hospital roof, "Felix..."
"Emmm?"
"Do you have a dream? What do you want to be later? Or what do you want to do?"
"Nothing..."
"Everyone must have a dream, even me. You are also Felix. but know not that my dream is to be a police detective.. I've always dreamed of catching criminals and you've always been by my side fixing the mistakes I've made... "
Felix just smiled at it.
"But now my only dream is to live long with you, with Tan, with Teo, with Tom.. so what's the world got to do with me. Stupid!" Cain pulled Felix down.
And Felix grabbed Cain's hand with a smile.
Someone said, throwing away a dream is the same as throwing himself away...
