The Price of Sainthood

The Price of Sainthood
Pride is not in its place

"Non, Non Lara."

The girl who was still curled up under the blanket wriggled at the knock on the door of her room. He blinked his eyes to adjust the light coming into his eyes, then slowly got up to walk towards the door. His steps move lazily because the eyes still feel heavy.

"What's wrong?" ask after opening the door. Making the servant who stood in front of him while looking down respectfully immediately raised his gaze. The reason, this was the first time Lara spoke politely to a servant like him.

"Mr and Madam Helena are already waiting for breakfast below. There's young master Dante too."

"good. I'll be right down." Lara closed the door of her room after saying that.

Good though. Her parents are still waiting for Lara to have breakfast together. That means no meaningful change to their relationship going forward.

"Dante? What's he here for?" Lara muttered curiously. His eyes shifted to the side when trying to guess. "Did he come just to confirm my existence?"

A smile full of arrogance finally flashed on Lara's lips. "Don't be surprised by what you'll see, Dante. I am Lara. I can do anything to get what I want. Maybe you never thought I could come home so easily, didn't you. Now look and accept your defeat."

Lara smiled proudly after wagging her hair. The girl quickly cleaned herself up and packed neatly. His sadness last night had even evaporated just like that. As if nothing had happened before, he was even so confident as he went down to the ground floor and joined the three people who had already gone first at the dining table.

"Mom, Papa, Dante." Lara greeted me kindly. His smile is growing cheerful even though it still looks damp in the eye area.

However, he had to swallow a sense of disappointment when suddenly Narendra got up from his seat.

"Dante, continue the breakfast, yes. I have to rush to the office. There's an important meeting to take this morning."

Dante just smiled as he nodded. Instead, it was Helena who spoke to Narendra.

"Cock in a hurry, honey? Not breakfast yet."

Narendra even ignored the protest of his wife, let alone looking at the face of Lara who is not his biological daughter, he is still reluctant. He just smiled at Dante before he actually left.

Although not showing it blatantly, but Lara still felt bitter by the change in attitude Narendra. Especially seeing the face of Helena who suddenly sad despite trying to hide. It was obvious that the man was building an invisible barrier for them. Narendra is willing to sit there just to entertain Dante alone, and not really run their routine. If Narendra's feelings are fine, of course the man will not move when he arrives.

Poor thing. How are you, Lara, Narendra just ignored Helena. Remember, you're just your mom's illegitimate son with an obscure man. A-nak ha-ram!

Truly, Lara wanted to hit her own head as the whispers continued to echo in her mind. He hates everyone! His mother has sinned! Her father would not accept her for who she is! Dante always sided with Alisha! Even more so to Alisha who had taken it all.

Is it wrong to ask for justice?

It'sit's okay. This is just the initial reaction. Your father was only hit hard by your mother's betrayal, Lara. And not hate yourself. Later, after his anger subsides, Narendra will definitely accept you again as usual. Believe this. Lara tried to organize her heart by suggesting her own thoughts. He was sure everything would be fine.

"Why? Surprised, see I'm home all right?" Lara asked with a proud smile as she walked side by side with Dante. Both of them stepped towards the car after finishing breakfast and then paid a farewell to Helena.

There's no harm in him lying. It was important that Dante could no longer underestimate him. He even paid a lot for this.

"Shocked? I don't think so." Dante's smile was also no less arrogant than Lara. He watched Lara from foot to head, then clucked slowly.

"What do you see?" ketus Lara's.

Not immediately answering Lara's question, Dante just smiled as he opened the door for the girl. It just so happened that they had arrived at Dante's car parked in the courtyard. Both of them are truly amazing. Very natural. Narendra and Helena don't realize that Lara and Dante are involved in one problem.

"Come in" said Dante.

Not intending to fight, Lara acted obediently following the young man's wishes. Although from the outside looks calm, but in his heart he can not bear to shout victory. If Dante wants a great girl to be a companion to life, then he's the one.

"Lo looked very happy this morning. Then why do your eyes look haphazard? Is it because it's so happy, that you cry all night?"

Lara gulps. Dante's innuendo was like a slap on his cheek. However, he tried to stay calm by smiling. Dante doesn't need to know the problems he's facing right now. Still Narendra's only son Dante refused. So what would happen if Dante knew he was just an illegitimate child?

"You really understand women's feelings, Dante. You know very well if the woman who is too happy can cry last night," he replied.

"Oh yeah? Hemm, you're a really rare girl" said Dante.

"Of course," Lara replied proudly. "If you're only here to see my fall, better forget it. I'm not as weak as you think I am. I can't be underestimated."

"Yes. I admit, I was wrong." The change in Dante's facial features made Lara even more proud of her. How not? The usually cold Dante suddenly turned warm. Moreover, his gaze was so longing and full of regret. It seems Lara's success in escaping the kidnapper has had a good impact on Dante's view of her.

"It turns out you're not as weak as I thought," continued Dante. "Lo girl who is tough, hardworking and not easy to give up. If I may know, how do you take that guy down?" dante asked then, with a curious expression.

"Of course by fighting him out!" lara answered in a high tone. However, Lara's unconvinced expression actually returned to bring up the question on Dante's lips.

"Early fight?"

"Yes! Of course." Lara replied in a high tone.

Dante put on a smile, then reached into his cell phone from his pants pocket.

"What's fighting it out this way you mean?" Dante smiled obliquely while showing his phone screen. Spontaneously Lara saw that until she immediately widened her eyes.
