Fane could feel, Selena was in a bad mood. Selena seemed to be hiding something from him.
Selena chuckled and said, "No. What are you talking about!"
"Fane's home!"
Fiona is taking care of something at home.
When she saw Fane coming home, Fiona walked over with a carefree smile, "Oh, look, that's my amazing daughter-in-law. You're home!"
Both Selena and Fane looked at each other. I immediately felt something was wrong.
Fiona really greeted her daughter-in-law, besides, calling her 'excellent'. Makes them think something has happened.
"Oh no, I don't deserve your praise!"
Fane laughed awkwardly and asked, "Is there a problem, Ma?"
"Hehe, you're really smart!"
Fiona chuckled before saying, "Sharon looked for you for a few days in a row but you didn't come home."
Fane gasped at hearing that. His expression slightly dimmed. It seems like that woman will come here often.
It seemed like her mother-in-law might get a lot of good offers from the woman because Fiona was smiling so happily. Looking at Fiona's style alone, Fane is worried that her mother-in-law is trying to match Sharon to her, Fiona almost forces them to live together for money!
As she expected, Fiona continued, "Miss Sharon is the mistress of the George family. Now that she has managed to lose weight, she looks as pretty as my daughter. He came just for you and gave each of us a piece of jade. Everything looks expensive, it might cost millions! Hey, he still likes you a lot. He wants us to tell you."
After Fiona finished speaking, she took out a box and handed it to Selena then said, "Here, Selena. This is the gift Sharon had prepared for you. Look how good he is. I know he really loves Fane!"
Selena's mood is bad. All of her depressed emotions burst out after seeing how Fiona tried to persuade Fane to marry Sharon. He stood up angrily then threw the box to the ground while saying, "Have I never seen a piece of jade before? That's only a million dollars, isn't it? Flona quickly picked up the box and said, "Are you crazy? It's very expensive. Even if you don't like it, you can't just throw it away. You can give it to me. What are you gonna do if this jade breaks?"
Fiona carefully inspected the piece of jade. After making sure it wasn't broken, he heaved a sigh of relief then kept it. She then told Selena, "My daughter, it's normal for a man to have a mistress, right? A lot of rich people out there have a few mistresses in their house."
Selena immediately turned around with a cold expression, ignoring Fiona.
"Ma, how did you get such a big gift. He gave you more than one. Do you think it's appropriate for you to accept it?"
Fane was speechless, too. Her own mother-in-law tried to help her find her a mistress. This was the first time in Fane's life to hear such a thing.
It seems like the Selena family is the only one in the world who would do such a thing.
"Why is that inappropriate? To any normal person out there, such a gift was indeed an expensive one, but to Sharon, this was just an allowance for her. Why can't I take it?"
Fiona spoke with a bitter look, "You guys should seriously think about this entire ordeal. Fane, you haven't even seen Sharon. He's not the old Sharon anymore. You might be able to agree with her after meeting Sharon. He used to be really fat. Even I wouldn't approve of his offer back then. Don't all men like pretty women?"
"I've seen her before and yes, she's beautiful."
"After all, Selena is the only woman I love. I had no feelings for Sharon, especially when she had already agreed to stop bothering me, but still she decided to come again. His behavior is disgusting me even more!" Fane replied with a cold expression.
