The Devil Tears: Lord of the Night

The Devil Tears: Lord of the Night
Arc 2 Chapter 11: Return to Quest

[City of Freidburg, Year 735 Months 6 days to 2]

A week passed, Luciel was walking towards the Hunter Guild. He aimed to attend a briefing on the Raid of a dungeon that would be conducted tomorrow.

Arriving there, Luciel then saw the Hunter Guild Hall already filled by many people.

"Hey Luciel! Come here!" Luciel then turned around to hear someone calling out to him. It looks like Izzy with his team has gathered.

"Hi all of you, it seems that your team will be following the Raid Dungeon tomorrow huh?" ask Luciel.

"Of course, we don't want to lose to other hunters!" nolan was excited.

"Is that so? Can I come with your team?"

Hearing Luciel's request, Nolan as the Chairman of their team replied, "of course, yesterday Izzy had discussed it with us."

Not long after, there was a woman in her 30s entering the hall.

"Consideration!" Hearing the woman's voice, the hunters who were in the hall fell silent. The atmosphere became silent for a moment.

"As you know, tomorrow we're going to Raid into a newly discovered Dungeon last week near the Greenwood forest. Our goal is to clean up the monsters in it and retrieve the valuable things in there." Hearing this, the Hunters started to get excited.

"But there's bad news. The students of the academy will participate in the Raid for their training."

"Booo!"

"Enht bother!"

The hunters were disappointed to hear this information. It was because they had to split the profits that would be gained while inside the Dungeon with those students.

"Well... I can't do much this time. This is a direct request from Duke Ferdinand himself." After hearing the reason, the Hunters fell silent again.

"There will be three paths within that Dungeon. We will clear the left and right paths, while the students of the academy will trace the left path. Is there a question?" obviously the woman.

"What about the materials we found in the Dungeon? Can we keep it to ourselves?" ask Luciel.

"Oh, you've only been following Raid for the first time? You can store Mana Core or the material you find there. However, every artifact and ancient book you must hand over to the Guild. We will auction it off and share the proceeds as a gift from this Raid Dungeon Quest," he explained.

"Alright, thanks for the information, Chairman."

"Is there anything you want to ask again?" ask the Chairman back. The Hunters were silent. "Alright, if there isn't, tomorrow converge on the first bell in front of the Guild."

After the briefing, the Hunters then talked about the upcoming Raid tomorrow.

Luciel and Izzy did the same.

"What kind of monsters will appear in the Dungeon?" ask Izzy.

"If not mistaken, a level 2 - level 4 Monster will appear. The further you go inside, the more powerful the monster will be" Luciel replied.

"Then, how many floors will we get inside?" ask Nolan

"I think two floors is enough, right? Our team is only experienced against monsters below level 4 only," Jenny replied.

"The most important thing to consider when exploring the Dungeon is the traps" said Luciel.

"What does that mean, Luciel?" ask Izzy.

"I heard, many beginners died because of Dungeon traps not because of facing monsters there," he explained.

"Well..that's why we need you, aren't you very skilled at this thing— looking for traps" Finn said.

"All right, tomorrow prepare yourself. We meet again tomorrow" Nolan said.

The Great Eagle Academy

Liz with Leon just did some match practice. During this training, they had already conducted duels 50 times. Liz won 30 of them.

"Liz, you're the hardest opponent I've faced so far who's the same age as me" Leon said.

"Is that so? I reckon... I'm still not strong enough, Leon," said Liz, looking up at the sky.

"What do you mean, Liz?" Leon is confused by Liz's statement.

In Leon's view, Liz is a strong and always confident woman. It's the first time Liz has looked so moody like this.

"According to my Master, those strong Knights are not seen in terms of physical strength or Magic possessed by them. Rather, the determination possessed by the Knight. No matter what trials he will pass, his heart will not waver to hold his oath," said Liz.

"The strength of the heart is strong, is it?" muttered Leon.

"Then, compared to him, I am still much weaker. Although she was not endowed with great fighting talent, she always had a way out when she encountered precarious situations when fighting," Liz smiled as she said that.

Seeing this, Leon clenched his hand. He felt that his smile was not meant for him.

"Liz, tomorrow want to bet who beats more monsters when in a dungeon?" Changing topics, Leon tries to challenge Liz.

"Of course, I think Ciel will also participate in the Raid tomorrow. In addition to being a blacksmith, he also had a job as a hunter."

Hearing Liz talk about another man, Leon is determined to impress Liz when the Dungeon Raid is tomorrow.

"Hey, let's duel again. I think I've had enough rest" asked Leon.

"certain."

The next day, Luciel began to prepare his equipment to conduct the Raid today. It had been a few days that Luciel had not conducted a Guild Quest.

"See you, Casper. Pray for me to get good material in there." Luciel gave Casper his breakfast the next morning

"Kukkukkuk!" Casper only responds by eating the meat Luciel gave him.

Luciel then closed his shop and started walking towards the Hunter Guild.

Hey author here, first of all, I'm sorry that this novel has not been updated for a long time. Honestly, this is the first novel I wrote. So a lot of wrong writing.

This has not been done for his revision.

I have 3 novels now. One of them is to take part in a writing competition. So for this novel, at least it will often update it because it is still focused on the novel that is contested.

For this novel is calm I will not drop really and will be updated occasionally. After the completion of the other novel, I will probably focus back on this novel.

Once again, sorry for the readers who waited a long time for this novel to update.

Greetings Author.
