The Oath of Bonding with the Seven Celestial Manual

Before they started the energy control exercise, Hong Jin asked Shin Yu to bind a contract with the Seven Celestial Manual.

Shin Yu had been quite confused by Hong Jin's words, but she immediately understood them when given a more detailed explanation.

Bonding with the Seven Celestial Manual turned out to be quite easy from what Shin Yu had thought before, though, he only needed to take an oath to the Dao of the Heavens and the bond between the two of them would instantly connect by itself.

After taking the oath according to the direction of Hong Jin, Shin Yu felt that he had connected with the Seven Celestial Manual.

On the other hand, Hong Jin stared at the manual that was in Shin Yu's hands then asked, "Have you been able to see the contents?"

"Hm, what does that mean?"

"Ah, the contents of the manual could only be seen by the person attached to it. So other than you, neither I nor anyone else will be able to see it..." Hong Jin explained briefly.

Shin Yu nodded in understanding, then opened the manual and read it for a moment. He then said that he could see the contents of the first page until the end.

"After you read it, please memorize every name of the method, I've been curious long enough." Hong Jin asked, and Shin Yu just said yes.

After Shin Yu stored the Seven Celestial Manual in the storage ring, Hong Jin started giving basic lessons regarding energy.

Shin Yu listened to him without speaking, and eventually they began the practice of energy control.

Since Shin Yu was already quite proficient, he was able to expend the energy within his body and make it a palm-sized Qi ball. Hong Jin who was watching him was not surprised at all because he had previously received reports that Wang Liu sometimes taught him that.

"Great boy, but he doesn't seem to last long..." Hong Jin murmured, he could tell in one look, "Try to keep that energy ball for as long as possible, if you feel like you will lose control then stop immediately."

Shin Yu gave a small nod when given an order by her new teacher, she focused herself on maintaining the shape of that energy ball. And after a few minutes passed, Shin Yu stopped the flow of energy and made the Qi ball disappear.

"So it's only six minutes, huh?" Hong Jin muttered softly, "That's good, Shin Yu. Are you tired?"

"Yes, it's exhausting. However, I can do this several times continuously" Shin Yu said.

"In addition to creating Qi balls, what can you do?"

"I can coat the sword and body with Qi, but for the body I can't do it while moving." Shin Yu replied, he had tried it himself many times but never succeeded even once.

"Oh, that's a bit of a surprise." Hong Jin replied as this was new news for him, "Try coating your sword and body with Qi simultaneously."

Shin Yu was silent for a moment because she had never tried it at all, she then gave a small nod and took out a sword from her storage ring.

Before Shin Yu coated her sword with Qi, she first did so to her body. After his body was coated in Qi, he tried to drain the energy on his sword, but willingly as hard as he tried he was unable to do that.

"I can't, Teacher." Shin Yu said after removing the Qi layer on his body.

"Alright, I'm starting to understand your limits." Hong Jin nodded once, "You only need a small push."

"First of all, close your eyes and try to empty your mind."

After being asked that, Shin Yu began to close her eyes while adjusting her breathing so that she could relax.

"After that, imagine that all the parts in your body today are empty containers that extend like a river. Then, imagine again that the flow of energy in each of your meridians is the flow of water flowing in that empty container."

"Close your head if you can already feel the rush of water flowing through your body." asked Hong Jin, and not long after that Shin Yu nodded her head, "Good, good, keep your eyes closed and walk slowly to the source of my voice."

When Shin Yu was about to step foot, all the shadows in her current mind instantly disappeared instantly. Both of his eyes opened and he was a little astonished to see his body filled with sweat.

"You are almost moving with a body covered in Qi." Hong Jin said with a faint smile, "Rest for ten minutes, then repeat the thing I instructed earlier. Do it over and over again until you can walk five steps."

"I understand, Teacher."

Shin Yu rested for ten minutes, then started doing it again. The second experiment and so on had similar results, but in the fifth experiment he managed to step one foot forward.

Hong Jin who saw it immediately amazed, unexpectedly within an hour Shin Yu managed to do one step, "The speed of learning is indeed quite extraordinary, wang Liu was so impressed with her."

In just a few hours, Shin Yu managed to step five steps forward according to what Hong Jin had asked for.

"Good, you're really great." Hong Jin clapped his hands, then looked at the sweat on Shin Yu's body, "For now, you rested for an hour. Use that time to memorize cultivation manuals or look for small meridians."

"Good, Teacher." Shin Yu replied obediently.

An hour passed by quickly, now Shin Yu was standing before Hong Jin. The middle-aged man gave instructions to the child in front of him to do the same thing as before but with his eyes open.

Shin Yu certainly tried it straight away, but it was difficult for him to empty his mind let alone imagine it.

"Do it until you can, maybe it'll be longer than before but I'm sure you can do it" Hong Jin said calmly.

Initially Hong Jin wanted to do the blindfold method to the stage Shin Yu could run, but after rethinking the method had a high enough risk even though it was relatively effective and fast. The risk was that Shin Yu would have a hard time when he told her to open her eyes while imagining that.

I don't know how many hours Shin Yu tried to imagine what she had imagined before with her eyes open, but until now there was no development at all.

"Please yourself first, I'll give you ten minutes." Hong Jin from a distance said, and Shin Yu only gave a small nod in response.

"Today I felt a little frustrated." Shin Yu said inwardly after doing the meditation position, "What do I have to do to make my mind go blank...?"

The reason Shin Yu was in trouble was because there were many objects within his sight range, besides his concentration always broke when the teacher deliberately made a small gesture.

Shin Yu thought for a long time to the point that she did not realize that ten minutes had passed just like that.

"Teacher, is there any suggestion that my concentration will not break?"

Hong Jin raised the corner of his right lip, then said casually, "Easy, you just need to calm down and focus on your goal. Don't forget to set your breath, and assume everything you see is an insignificant object."

Shin Yu gave a small nod before taking a deep breath and then slowly took it out, she began to calm herself down and followed the advice of her teacher.

Shin Yu concentrated on her goal while trying to clear her mind, slowly a shadow about the empty container as well as the flow of water appeared in her mind. On the other hand, Hong Jin made a sudden movement when the Qi layer started to envelop Shin Yu's body, but after doing so repeatedly he saw no signs of the boy's rupture of concentration.

"I gave a not-so-useful suggestion, but it was very effective for him." Hong Jin muttered as he shook his head.
