Shin Yu's

Shin Yu's
Child Without Emotion

A cold night accompanied by the sound of a rainstorm was now sweeping through a Forest in one of the Zhang Empire's regions. Right in the middle of the Forest, there was a boy sitting curled up behind a huge rock with his body shaking from the cold.

The boy was named Shin Yu, the reason he was able to be here was because his father threw him away after he deliberately spilled hot water onto his face leaving a disgusting scar.

Shin Yu did that because she wanted to see her father's reaction when hurt for no particular reason. And the reaction he saw was excessive, different when his mother was beaten by his father and could only cry while begging for mercy.

"I'm hungry..." Shin Yu could feel his stomach ringing, he raised his head and looked at the night sky which dropped countless raindrops, "When does the rain stop?"

Shin Yu quietly sighed deeply from her mouth, then got up to her feet. Just as he was about to step his foot forward, a striped Tiger emerged from behind the tree and slowly approached it.

Shin Yu slowly retreated until her steps came to a halt as her back touched the stone wall, her instincts telling her that she would die if the Tiger pounced on her.

The tiger took out its sharp claws while accelerating its pace, when he wanted to pounce on the boy, there was a kick that hit his body that made him bounce and hit the tree until it was destroyed.

"Are you okay, son?" an old man asked, he smiled gently.

"I'm fine." Shin Yu nodded small.

The old man raised his eyebrows slightly, then asked, "Why did you get here? Where do you live?"

"I live in a village not far from here, my father dumped me here because I poured hot water over his face." replied Shin Yu with a flat expression.

The old man looked at the blank-looking eyes of Shin Yu, then walked over to her. His right hand touched above the little boy's head and a layer of energy instantly enveloped him.

Shin Yu felt warmth as the layer of energy enveloped him, he raised his head to look at the old man then said, "It turns out you're a cultivator..."

"Haha... Isn't that clear enough?" the old man chuckled, "Rain is still quite heavy, let's find a place to shelter."

Although the layer of energy protected them from the raindrops as well as the coldness of the air temperature but it did not hurt to take shelter in a closed place rather than continue to stand in the middle of the Forest like this.

Shin Yu nodded and the two of them walked together towards a place that could be used as a shelter.

During the trip, the old man introduced himself as a Cultivator from the White Stream. His name was Liu Kang, the Elder of a sect named, the 5 Sword Kings.

Shin Yu did not understand the old man's words at all other than his name, he had no knowledge of the outside world as both of his parents had never taught him about it.

Despite having complete parents Shin Yu never felt any affection from them at all. His father was a farm worker who loved to drink and gamble, while his mother was a woman of entertainment despite having married status.

After walking for quite a long time they both found a small cave that only fit less than five adults.

"So, what's your name?" asked Liu Kang curiously.

"I'm Shin Yu."

"You look pale, haven't you eaten yet?"

"Not yet."

Liu Kang smiled faintly, then took out some already cold bread. Before it was given to Shin Yu, she first warmed it up by manifesting her Qi into Fire energy.

"Eat..." Liu Kang gave the warm bread to Shin Yu.

Shin Yu certainly received it in silence, she was a little surprised because the bread that had been cold was now warm as it had just been made.

"Thank you.." said Shin Yu, then devoured him calmly.

"This child... He did not let out his emotions at all, even when he was almost pounced on by the tiger earlier he only showed a flat expression." Inner Liu Kang, then noticed the bruised scars and scratches on Shin Yu's body, "Besides, he doesn't seem to be living in a happy family. Should I adopt him?"

Liu Kang immediately shook his head slowly and dismissed his thoughts, even though Shin Yu had bad parents but he was still married, it would be presumptuous to adopt Shin Yu without telling her parents.

"Yes, I want to." Shin Yu answered the potluck, then went back to eating the remaining two loaves of bread.

"He's not afraid to go back." Liu Kang said, "This kid doesn't seem to have any trauma or anything, interesting..."

The rain that fell through the forest slowly began to subside, the black clouds that originally enveloped the entire forest area had now disappeared and were replaced by the beautiful twilight sky.

Liu Kang momentarily looked at the sky before turning his gaze to Shin Yu, the little boy just kept silent as he leaned his back against the rock.

"Let's get out of this forest" Liu Kang said in a soft voice.

Shin Yu looked at Liu Kang then gave a small nod, the two of them together came out of the Cave and headed outside the forest.

Shinwei Village was the village where Shin Yu lived, not too far from the forest they both occupied before.

"So you live here?" Liu Kang asked as he looked at the surroundings.

"Yes, my house is there." Shin Yu pointed in one direction.

"That's it, huh? Then I'll take you home..."

The two of them walked in the direction that Shin Yu pointed at, as it was already night so not many villagers were wandering outside.

"Hm?"

When he came across a group of middle-aged men, Liu Kang slightly raised his eyebrows when he accidentally smelled the scent of fresh blood from them or rather from the sword sheathed on their waists.

"Flame human blood.." Liu Kang's inner voice looked back, "It looks like they just killed people."

"What's wrong?" Shin Yu stopped.

"Ah, there's no..." Liu Kang smiled faintly, "Let's get back on the road."

Shin Yu nodded once and the two of them walked back together.

"It's true..."

When the two of them had arrived at a simple little house, the door opened wide and the scent of blood came out from within.

Liu Kang had already started to guess the situation, his eyes glancing towards Shin Yu whose facial expression was still the same as before.

"She knows something's awkward here but she's still quiet, huh?" inner Liu Kang, then asked, "Why is the door of your house open?"

"Stop that..." Shin Yu stepped inside, and her steps came to a halt when she saw a man in his 40s lying on the floor with a body full of blood, "Dad... I'm back."

Shin Yu stepped over the old man's corpse and Liu Kang followed him but did not step over him.

"He's your father... Don't you care about his death?" asked Liu Kang curiously.

"Care, but I want to see your condition first." Shin Yu replied, her tone sounded very flat.

Liu Kang mutely heard that, this Shin Yu was like a child who had completely lost his emotions.

When Shin Yu opened the only door of the room in the house, she could find her mother who was on the bed without wearing any clothes and was filled with white mucus. In addition, there was an incision wound on his neck and fresh blood was still flowing out from there.

"All right, that's enough." Liu Kang instantly closed Shin Yu's eyes with his right palm, "We better get out first."

Shin Yu did not say anything and Liu Kang directly took her out of the house.
