Summary Vol 2 Chapter 6: Truth and lies
The day of deliberation arrives. Kiyotaka checks on Airi, who has decided to come to school. After the class is over, Kiyotaka, Suzune, Sudo and Airi go to the meeting.
They are greeted by B-Class homeroomist Chie Hoshinomiya, who is pushed back into the faculty room by Chabashira.
Chabashira tells them that OSIS will also be present, causing Suzune to freeze for a moment. They then reached the OSIS room on the 4th floor.
Manabu Horikita, Chairman of OSIS, announced the start of the discussion and told Secretary Akane Tachibana to begin the process. He added, this discussion has been attended since he was trusted as president.
Sudo tells his story about the matter, that Komiya and Kondo have summoned him to a special building, but they deny and claim otherwise.
Both sides began to argue and claim that the other party was guilty. Kiyotaka noticed that Suzune had been completely silent and recalled the conversation between her and her brother in the back of the dorm.
As Sudo was at a disadvantage in the discussion, Kiyotaka grabbed Suzune's side and tickled her. Suzune is surprised and Kiyotaka tells her to hold back because they are going to lose.
Upon regaining consciousness, Suzune began to speak up. He threw his suspicions about why Ishizaki, who is not in the Basketball club, was present in the special building.
When they argue that he is there as a bodyguard, Suzune points out the possibility of them getting injured which should be quite low because Ishizaki is good at fighting.
Suzune later said there were witnesses who had seen the whole incident, and Airi was called to the meeting.
After being asked to begin her testimony, Airi began to suffer from her anxiety and was unable to speak. Kazuma Sakagami, the C-Class homeroom teacher, asks to end the meeting so they won't waste their time, and Chabashira seems to agree.
Chabashira then tells Airi to come down, but she suddenly speaks loudly and says that the Class-C boys have done the first blow.
Sakagami questions Airi about the reason for her late appearance as a witness and her shy personality, then concludes that her story was faked by her class to make her a witness, but Suzune opposes the idea.
Airi said she had evidence and threw a photo of herself taken in the building, which also showed the date and time.
Sakagami tries to argue that the information from the digital camera can be fixed, but Manabu shows them the picture of the fight itself.
Sakagami then proposed a compromise, in which Sudo received a 2-week suspension, while the Class-C boys received a 1-week suspension. Chabashira and Kiyotaka express their agreement, with Suzune also seemingly accepting it.
He also blamed Sudo's attitude for the result. However, he claimed that Sudo was innocent in the case and they would not accept his suspension.
Manabu concluded that one side had lied and announced to hold another meeting at 4:00 p.m.
If no one pleads guilty, the board will assess using evidence and may consider expulsion.
Airi started crying after the meeting. Suzune convinces him, stating she has no intention of losing and leaves, followed by Sudo. Airi apologized for not stepping forward early and Kiyotaka comforted her.
Manabu and Tachibana then exit the room, with Manabu asking Kiyotaka for his plan but he denies it.
Manabu tells Airi that he cannot accept his testimony is entirely true because he is from D-Class, but Kiyotaka says he believes he and Suzune will prove it.
After Manabu and Tachibana leave, Kiyotaka encourages Airi and expresses her gratitude to him.
Kiyotaka explained what happened and they discussed the compromise. Kiyotaka said his class would fight to the end, with Ichinose and Kanzaki also saying they would continue their assistance.
Suzune shows up and says their help is not needed, but she wants them to prepare something for a risky strategy.
Ichinose and Kanzaki hesitated for a bit but finally agreed. Ichinose then pulled out his phone and lent it to Suzune.
Kiyotaka also offers to contact the 'Professor' for his help. He then suddenly received a blow from Suzune for her actions earlier.
Little Epilogue ;)
Kiyotaka and Suzune meet the next day, pondering over the strategy she has devised. As Kiyotaka begins to walk, Suzune will say something but decides not to until Sudo's case is settled.
After arriving at the class, they were surprised to see Airi was already there and she tried to greet them.
30 minutes before the discussion, Kiyotaka left the class, telling Airi that she did not participate in the discussion.
He also told her not to work and she said he wanted to do his best like everyone.
Kiyotaka then tells her that she wants to talk to him about something later.
Kiyotaka went to the special building to meet 3 C-class children, who had received an email from the upcoming Kushida. Kiyotaka says she wants to talk but Ishizaki is upset and the three start leaving after learning Kushida is not coming.
However, they were suddenly stopped by Ichinose. He accuses them of lying but Ishizaki still claims Sudo started the fight.
Ichinose points out that the school could have punished Sudo immediately but chose not to and they know Class-C is lying.
While Ishizaki was laughing at him, he mentioned the security camera and pointed to the one that was installed in the hallway. Ichinose also showed another camera at the other end, causing the boys to be distrustful.
He also said that the Chairman of OSIS has seen it all and, even if they manage to get Sud suspended for a day, they will face expulsion from the school.
He then asked them to withdraw their complaint as it would be best for both classes.
Ishizaki frantically tries to call someone but Ichinose threatens to immediately report the security footage to the school. They finally gave up and agreed to withdraw from the case.
Later, Kiyotaka and Ichinose discussed the case when they removed the camera. Ichinose and Kanzaki, along with the 'Professor', had bought and installed a fake security camera during the lunch break.
Kiyotaka promises to return the points he borrowed from Ichinose. As she mentioned that she wanted to tell him about something, Kiyotaka suddenly recalled about Airi and rushed off, with Ichinose also starting to chase behind.
